Putting-it-out-there fairy

Your attitude can be based on the weather, the amount of traffic congestion, the way people treat you, or a whole lot of other things.
But understand that when you turn your attitude over to other people or to random circumstances, it's going to be volatile, undependable and not very productive.
You'll become a puppet of the world around you.
Be a puppet if you like.
Or -- choose for yourself.

Sunday Evenings' Tune.....

A bit of Kate.......

Underneath the stars I'll meet you
Underneath the stars I'll greet you
There beneath the stars I'll leave you
Before you go of your own free will

Go gently

Underneath the stars you met me
Underneath the stars you left me
I wonder if the stars regret me
At least you'll go of your own free will

Go gently

Here beneath the stars I'm landing
And here beneath the stars not ending
Why on earth am I pretending?
I'm here again, the stars befriending
They come and go of their own free will

Go gently
Go gently

Underneath the stars you met me
And underneath the stars you left me
I wonder if the stars regret me
I'm sure they'd like me if they only met me
They come and go of their own free will

Go gently
Go gently
Go gently

The balloons are FREE!!!!!!

Yep--
Cuz I freed 'em.

Into the sky......orange, black and birthday balloons....sailing into the NW on the breeze.....

Gosh.
Now I'm sad.

Free--or flat and dead.

Free is a gooder choice.....

Sleeping with Bread

This week, what was your greatest consolation?
What was your greatest desolation?

Desolation:
The weariness has been permeating. There's not an ounce of me left at the end of the day..... The act of falling into bed after the day's done is vaguely remembered. Were it not for waking myself up and finding myself under the doona, I wouldn't know I'd taken myself there.
Rest isn't replenishing and there's a heaviness to moving myself from point A to point B. No matter the activity I'm walking in to, there's a sense of 'there ain't enough of me left' to do whatever gets availed to me.
Still.......I show up and it gets 'done'.
Not my best effort, not filled with 'all that I am'--but 'done' to an acceptable level for the world around me.
Not done to the standard I'm satisfied with--but 'done'.

The boss asked for a couple minutes of my time this week.
He asked questions--and told me he knew if he didn't ask, I wouldn't be telling.
There was truth in that.....I don't particularly like talking 'what's up with Mel' and leaving people concerned.
If I had an answer to the 'what's up with Mel' and I was working the solution--then I'd feel differently about giving that freely.
But I don't.....

What I do have is weariness that permeates through the whole of me.
What I have is everything and everyone being affected.

Consolation:
I have a people in my life who care more about my life than they do about pissing me off. LOL

So they nag.
And they shove bottled water with electrolytes and vitamins at me.
And they coax me into eating something I genuinely don't feel like eating.....like meats.....*ack!*
And they sit down to make the grocery list so they're getting something I DO feel like eating.
And they push me in the direction of bed...
And they make me walk AWAY from the 'stuff that's piled in front of me.
And they ask questions when I don't wanna be asked.
And they get on my case.
And they demand an answer to what I'm doing to 'work with the problem'.
And they stay on it, no matter how snarly I get with 'em.
And they box me in and take away the 'squiggle room' I give myself.

And they still love me--sometimes even more for getting to do the battle with me...

Darn 'em all anyways........LOL

Fairy reminder

There always and everywhere is a quiet yet unyielding peace, upon which rests all that is.
The more often you reach in and touch this peace the more fully you experience its power.
Anything that is negative, deceptive or destructive will eventually consume and obliterate itself.
What is authentic, peaceful and creative will continue to grow more pervasive.

Lights, camera.....roof!

Yup....we have roofers.....
And they have nailguns..... :-)

Sounds like a machine gun goin' off--they're tellin' me it's cuz they have the safety off.
OMGosh....

I gotta get me one of them!
k....maybe not....
Or...maybe.....LOL

Studley still reigns, mind you.
Yesterday the little roofer stopped his doings to remove a piece of black papery stuff that had fluttered down to cover Studley.
GOOD little roofer!

And nails......lemme tell ya about the nails I've picked up....
<-- will have enough scrap nails to melt down and make a car, I swear....LOL

I can't wait to mow. *nodding*

Suppose I can talk 'em outta using that metal detector thingamabob?

k.....
I'll go to the corner....LOL

Thank you, reading fairy...

There are lots of temptations and there are plenty of excuses. Keep in mind, though, that you are in control of you.
Your thoughts, your words and your actions are precisely the ones you choose.
They can take you anywhere you would like to go.

Rawrrrr........

NOT that I'm lacking compassion---

BUT......

I turn on the tube and what do I see
A whole lotta people cryin' don't blame me
They point their crooked little fingers at everybody else
Spend all their time feelin' sorry for themselves
Victim of this, victim of that
Your mama's too thin and your daddy's too fat
Get over it.
Get over it.
All this whinin' and cryin' and pitchin' a fit....
Get over it.
Get over it.

You say you haven't been the same since you had your little crash
But you might feel better if they give you some cash
The more I think about it Ol' Billy was right
Let's kill all the lawyers, let's kill 'em tonight
You don't wanna work you wanna live like a king
But the big bad world doesn't owe you a thing

Get over it.
Get over it.
If you don't wanna play then you might as well split
Get over it.
Get over it.

It's like going to confession every time I hear you speak
You're making the most of your losing streak
Some call it sick, I call it weak......

You drag it around like a ball and chain
You wallow in the guilt you wallow in the pain
You wave it like a flag you wear it like a crown
Got your mind in the gutter bringin' everybody down
Complain about the present and blame it on the past
I'd like to find your inner child and kick it's little ass

Get over it.
Get over it.
All this bitching and moanin' and pitchin' a fit
Get over it.
Get over it.

*chuckling and hitting repeat button*

Anything can be accomplished if you are willing to keep taking the next step when it is time to do so.
What you lack in brute strength, or resources, or knowledge, or skills, you can make up for with persistence.
You can get where you choose to go, step after step after persistent step.

Today's Fairy Thought

If you convince yourself that you're having a bad day, you will indeed experience a frustrating and unproductive day.
If you assume that circumstances are allied against you, then you'll encounter great trouble in getting anything done.
Your power depends on your perspective.
And your perspective is yours to choose.

Cake, anyone?

And a rousing chorus or two, please?

Ice cream is to the left--do help yourself! :-)

QOTW 10/1

How long have you been blogging and what would you like your blog to accomplish?
Gosh...
September 26, 2004. There'd be the answer of how long. (Happy 4 year anniversary to ME!)
Granted--that's the opening post...and then there was silence. For darn year a whole year.....
I'm not certain what I set out to accomplish--other than I had good people in my life who wanted a place to stay connected....people who'd come to find a place in my heart without effort on their part.
I know the power of connectedness.....
I don't know what I hoped to accomplish back then.
Heck, I can't tell ya my cellphone number to save my life! That's how long of a memory *I* have!!!

But I know what I moved on to.
I moved on to establish a place where I could come to and just say what's true for Mel.

Since then, I've been graced with some awesome company along the way.
Now, admittedly that was not planned.
Seriously....
I visited places--I peeked into the lives of other folks...
And LOOK what followed me home. LOL
Today---I still come here to say what's true for Mel.
Sometimes that makes sense to the folks who come visit--sometimes it's clear only to me.
That seems to be 'okay'...accepted......and even embraced as 'that's just who Mel IS'.
(bless the hearts of those who are loved a gagillion times over.....)

Thought for Today

Knowledge is one of the greatest treasures you can ever have.

Each day is filled with countless opportunities to obtain more of it and to make good use of it, and no one can ever take it away from you.
