November's End

Fairy Dusting

Here is a theory that may help you the next time you fail to make yourself available to do something good:

Stealing is not only taking. It is also refusing to give.

Can this be the end of November, please?

Just askin'....

This hasn't zackly been my most favoritest month by any means.

Yeahyeahyeah....I know--there's been lots of joyous moments, too.

But still.......

Morning at the Creek

Daily Dose

You are exactly who you are because who you are is important. Everything you are is valuable and important. You are important to yourself and to everyone else. If you were not exactly who you are, somebody very important would be missing from the experience of life.

You are exactly where you are because all that you have to give and receive is right where you are now. Where you are is valuable and important. Everything you know is needed right where you are. Everything you can do is do-able right where you are. If you were over there or over here, there would be a big void right where you are now.

You have gone through all that you have been through because of who you are. Because of what you needed to know. Everything you have done and been through is valuable and important. In order to be who you are, to know what you know, to be where you are in this moment, you needed to go through what you went through.

Who you are, where you are, what you know gives you value. It either makes your life important or discounts the importance of your life. How much you believe in who you are, serve where you are and use what you know can make a very big difference in who you become, where you go and what you do when you get to the next place.

Ummmm...yup, I think that's enough....

On the other hand......it might not be enough.

If that turns out to be the case there's cards from last year.
And the year prior.

k........we might make a few too many cards.

Yeah, well.....done nonetheless.

k....done constructing the actual cards.
NOW it's about addressing them and slipping the note inside.

I swear--next year I'm buyin' cards AND typing a generic letter!
HA!

(I think I said that last year.....ummm.....and probably the year prior, too.....)
Note: I did not photograph the penguiny ones. I'd keep 'em if I did. They're too cute. LOL

Ah yes....

The reward for hard work--is more work.
I forgot.

I think there's a part of me that resents that at this moment.
But that's okay. I'm quick to get off the dime and out of the desert. I'm gonna hope that's true today. I cannot afford to be piffy around other people at this moment in time.

Needless to say.
I'll be going in to work today.
The holiday makes sick people--did ya know that?
I knew that. Historically, I really did know that. Seems to be something that happens with each holiday. It's probably all that exposure to other family members who're potential sickies. *nodding* I'm sure that's it.

And why is it I say 'yes'?
Cuz I'm the boss?
Granted, it'd be a cold day in hell before I ever rang my boss and asked him to show up on the worksite because someone was sick.
But I think that's the era I grew up in.
I need to remember that it's a changed world.
I'd be wiser for remembering that.
I'd also be wiser for setting up a few other things....which I'll attend to come Monday--when I'm working again cuz that's when I'm suppose to work.
HA.

Oh boy do I NEED to do something with this irritation that's rearing its ugly head.
I'd try to convince myself that I can get work done, but the truth is--that won't happen. My work isn't doable from where I'm going to BE this evening.
And yep--what started out as 5 hours 'possibly, if we need you' has turned into 9 hours cuz I've now been seen as a viable solution.
Hold on--I'm the boss.
Right?
I think that's the part that's irritating me.
But I've set them up to have me as a piece of the solution, so really--troubles of my own making.

*sigh*
I'll fix it. Not today of course, but I'll fix it.
Oy brother.
First things first. ME and my attitude.

Yup.......ready, steady, GO.

~~~~~~~~~~~And then sometime later:
Very funny Big Guy.
No--seriously, I appreciate you making the Jeep break in a town 45 minutes from where I live, RIGHT as I was turning. I slipped right into that parking lot that was empty. That was handy. I even appreciate that I got the nudge to check the gauges and shut it off--before the smoke/steam came from under the hood. And I'm grateful for the dead cellphones.........both of 'em. They died after I called for help from he-who-rescues-damsels-in-broken-Jeeps. And they forced me to get myself in check to ask the nice folks at the service counter in Lowes to ring the police for me. The customer service folks were way nice.
And the police dispatcher--absolutely wonderful. She gave me the name of the towing folks the city uses and was so kindly on the phone.
Ohhhhhh......and the fella with the tow truck--equally nice, given I called him out on a Sunday afternoon during football season. LOL
He knew exactly where to take the Jeep and took awfully good care of us.
Really--had things not happened when they happened, as they happened....one of us woulda been out on the middle of some lonely highway with a breakdown and probably a ruined engine--cuz we can be dumb like that..
Gosh--it was even in tolerable weather. Nobody froze even if my toes did get a little chilly.
And surprise of surprises--nope, they didn't need me for work cuz someone actually returned a call back and was going in. Good thing--cuz I wasn't makin' it!
AND we found a flashlight on sale at Lowes--which was promptly bought by he-who-rescued-the-damsel-what-broke-the-Jeep.
Yup--all's well.
'Cept we have a broken Jeep.
I don't suppose it makes sense to be grateful for that bit...LOL.....but the rest--mightily so!
Soft Beginnings
Today's Reading
There are times when we do not recognize that it is time for us to move forward. Other times we recognize the need to move, but are not sure of how to take action. Then there are those times when we keep putting off what we know we need to do, hoping where we are will be just fine. Perhaps we are waiting for the right opportunity to come along. In any event, when life is ready for us to move and we resist, life will move us by any means necessary! What may feel like a disaster is actually a graduation.
When something goes thud in your life, remain open. Do not resist the need to move when your life tells you that it is time to move. Resistance closes your mind and heart. When your mind and heart are closed by resistance, what you need will have no way to enter your consciousness. Remain open to being taught what to do next. Remain open to healing your feelings about who and what you may be leaving behind. Remain open to knowing things that you don't already know. Remain open to being guided, supported and protected by the universe. For all you know, what you are challenged by may be the very thing you have been waiting for.
Let the seasonal stuff begin!!
  • Snoopy lights and Snoopy decorations up in the bathroom (yes--I have a decorated bathroom. /-: )
  • The very tall Hanukkah bush Christmas tree is standing proudly in the livingroom, lit up like the Los Vegas strip! Wooooohoooo!
  • Garland hung on 2 of the livingroom walls--bows and bells and lights attached. Looks good, dangit!
  • Poster covered with gold gift wrap so it looks like a giant prezzie on the coffee nook wall. *laughing* Looks like some ancient Perkins decoration so I'm good with it.
  • Bitty bulbs in gold and red hanging from the light in the coffee nook--DEFINITELY looks like Perkins material. *snickering*
  • Oh, let's not forget the red table cloth and red/gold place mats atop the table. Eatcher heart out Perkins! Pffffffffttttt! LOLOL
Yeahyeah......now, where was I....
  • Flickery candle lights attached to the street facing windows and......flickering! This would be my attempt to be a minimalist......which, given the above, obviously failed. :-P
  • Sooooo--24 holiday cards now completed! I'll wash the glue off the place mats another time.
  • Pooping penguiny guy proudly sitting on the endtable-- filled with jelly beans. *snickering* I love that little fella!
  • Holiday candles set out and lit. Well......they were lit until I left the livingroom. He-who-is-candlephobic blew 'em out. *rolling eyes*
  • Four boxes of 'stuff' stacked by the wall awaiting further instructions.
Oh, and that's just the inside!
I really was trying for the 'minimal approach'.
I thought I'd convinced he-who-climbs-ladders-to-point-light-bulbs-in-one-direction that 'less' was better given his joints have been bothering him.
And then.......holiday music got put on the CD player......
Sleighbells ring......are ya listenin'
In the lane......snow is glistenin'
A beautiful sight....we're happy tonight
Walkin' in a winter wonderland.
Yeahyeah.......I'll hold the ladder. I'm good at that. ;-)
TFTD
When you decide for someone what they can or cannot do, what they should or should not do, what they need or do not need, you are standing between them and God.
This does not serve you, God, or the other person.
When you decide what is right for someone, what is best for them, or how they should go about doing what you feel is right and best in their life, you are getting between that person and what God has in store for that person.
God never sleeps!
S/He knows exactly what each one of us needs and S/He knows how to go about delivering it to us in a way that we can understand.
When human beings learn to get out of God's way, they grow the way they need to grow.
They are able to do the things they need to do.
They move at a pace and in the direction that best serves them.
The reason God gave us each a life is so that we could take care of it.
If someone needs your insight, wait until they ask for it.
Once they do, ask their Creator what you should do or say.
It may be as simple as asking.
Oy............pffffffffffffttttttttt.........
I've tried and I've tried and I've tried.
For years the assignment has been 'let it look how it really IS'.
Dunno that I LIKE letting it look how it is.
Dunno that I like people knowing that it matters that darn much to me.
No, it won't make or break me. But it matters. HUGELY.
I think that shows more today than it's ever shown.
I don't like looking messy.
1. Throwing up.
2. Crying.
My least two favorite things. I don't think I've ever mastered the fine art of doing either of them without just plain looking stupid/ugly.
There's no graceful way to go about either--I'm pretty convinced of that.
And it would seem when things matter HUGELY......one of those two things is going to happen.
Leastwise it seems to happen for me.
*sigh*
Can't we 'let it look how it is' without that jazz?!
*sigh*
Apparently I can't.
Lemme guess.........more practice?
Grrreeaaaattttttttttt.
Today's Thought
Happiness is a gift that accompanies every instance of our lives if we approach each situation with gratitude, knowing that what's offered to us is special to our particular needs. The experiences we meet day to day are honing our Spirit, tempering our hard edges. For these we should offer gratitude.
Our well-being is the gift. Deciding what will make us happy, in fact, what we must have to be happy, prevents us from grasping the unexpected pleasure of the "chance" events of the moment. When we intently look for what we think we need, we may well be blind to more beneficial opportunities God has chosen for us.
Giving Thanks..
For Mr. Happy Spoon
For Mr. Organized
For Bug ala Monster Hat
Day is done, gone the sun
From the lakes, from the hills, from the sky
All is well, safely rest
God is nigh.
Fading light dims the sight
And a star gems the sky, gleaming bright
From afar, drawing near
Falls the night.
Thanks and praise for our days
Neath the sun, neath the stars, neath the sky
As we go, this we know
God is nigh.
Today's Fairy Thought
It's important to let ourselves grieve as a passage between yesterday and tomorrow. But we do not have to be controlled unduly by our grief, or our pain.
There are times when we have grieved, surrendered to the heaviness, tiredness, and weariness of a circumstance long enough. It becomes time to break out. It comes time to take action.
We will know when it's time to break the routine of grieving. There will be signs within and around us. We will become tired of the heaviness. An idea will occur; an opportunity will present itself. We may think: No. Too much effort... Do it anyway. Try something. Reach out. Stretch. Do something unusual, something different, and something special.
A new activity may help trigger the transformation process. Stay up two hours later than usual! Make an appointment to do something for yourself that is different from what you usually do. Visit someone you haven't seen in years. Do something to encourage and help the new energy coming your way.
We may not feel like breaking out of grief. It may feel safer, easier, to remain in our cocoon. Begin pushing out anyway.
Test the walls of your cocoon. Push. Push a little harder. It may be time to emerge.
O..M...Freaking....Gawddddd
......In the last 52 hours I have left my jobsite to handle a crisis with "a flooded basement" (which really equated to a blocked drain pipe creating contained water in one room along the wall) and I've dealt with plumbers (who, for the record, swear bunches) AND now I'm dealing with a water heater....Yep--a water heater.
It's now Wednesday evening and there's a puddle forming under the water heater. Right then....problem, solution! I've decided to 'catch' the drip with a tin tray--at least for now...until I can get hold of the swearing plumbers and have them come visit me AGAIN. Which won't be tomorrow by the way-- because it's a HOLIDAY.
THERE'S a surprise!
k.....
I'm NOT liking water very much at this moment in time.
And I'm NOT sure how I feel about plumbers, though I'm thinkin' I could outswear 'em at this point....
NOR am I liking the terms "great--we're screwed really".
If I hear those words one more time I'm gonna resort to violent behaviors WITH the turkey emu that's defrosting in the fridge because "that's how it's suppose to be done so you don't get food poisoning".
k.........that's how it's suppose to be done days earlier which is when the 22 pound turkey emu ought to have been purchased.
And the reason it wasn't? Because "it's large and wouldn't fit in the freezer".
k......
We live in the United States of America where freezer units are the size of the flipping teensy thing himself called a refrigerator in the United Kingdom. Three emus would fit in that freezer---AND they could be happily and comfortably playing bridge at a card table in there......THAT'S how much room there is in the flipping freezer.
And besides..... HAD the turkey been bought at an earlier time it woulda been a 10-12 pound turkey and not a flipping 22 pound turkey emu AND it could have comfortably been defrosting IN THE REFRIGERATOR section of that unit WHILE I was sucking up water from the carpet IN the one room there was water IN.
Love and tolerance of others is our code.
Love and tolerance of others is our code.
Love and tolerance of others is our code.
Seriously.
I'm going to hurt the freaking turkey emu in the fridge..........
That seems the safest route to go.
Daily Reading
I will realize my own worth when I accept
. . . I am worthy of divine blessings.
For those experiencing feelings and bouts of unworthiness, the Beatitudes, as presented in the Holy Bible offer hope. If they were to be re-written to address this very common human experience, they might be explained this way:
Blessed are the poor in spirit; those who have done all they know how to do.
For theirs is the kingdom of heaven, when they stop God starts.
Blessed are those who mourn; those who doubt their importance to God.
For they will be comforted; God will never give up on them.
Blessed are the meek; those who resist the urge to prove themselves.
For they will inherit the earth; they are the owners of true wealth.
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness; those who understand that life is a process of growth and healing.
For they will be filled; they will grow and their minds will be healed.
Blessed are the merciful; those who don't beat themselves for making mistakes.
For they will be shown mercy; Ditto
Blessed are the pure in heart; those who realize they are doing the best they can.
For they will see God; they go within themselves to find a better way.
Blessed are the peacemakers; those who hold no against-ness.
For they will be called the sons of God; they will be open to new ideas and insights.
Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness; those who keep working toward a better understanding of the truth of who they are.
For theirs is the kingdom of heaven; they will ultimately find the truth.
Buttons, Paper and Glass
Problem.....I wanna keep 'em all.
Solution?
MORE buttons.
MORE paper.
MORE glass.
No worries--I won't end up with a single one of 'em.
I have more fun that way dontchaknow.
Breathe....
Mop in Mouth Solutions
GOOD timing.
:-/
Excellent timing.
I LIKE water all over the laundry room floor and that panicked call from he-who-doesn't-handle-crisis-well.
Seemed pretty simple to me......call the plumber, mop up the water?
Yeah, notsomuch simple for he-who-doesn't-handle-crisis-well.
And no points for me for handling that graciously.
Fact is, take off a few points for being crabby about it and expecting another person to flip into 'A, B, C=solved...........THEN have the emotional moment'.
k......take off more than a 'few'.
I oughta go to the naughty corner, only I don't have the time.
I did say I was sorry.
NOT that it undoes the 'pop off at the mouth' moment.
........it doesn't.
Whatever happened to the "PAUSE when agitated" button?
Darnit that it sits next to "POP OFF and be sarcastic" button.
Oy brother......
SHUT UP when agitated.
Buy time, buy time, buy time.
I know these things.
I'da been better served by stuffing the mop IN MY MOUTH and tossing my body on the floor to pick up the backed up mess on the floor.
*sigh*
I could still do that........
Reading for the Day
Service is not about fixing, changing or helping anyone. Service is about you. Service is about giving what you have to offer without expecting recognition or reward. It is about doing what needs to be done, as you are asked. It means giving 100 percent of your attention to what you are doing as long as you are able to do so without causing yourself harm. Anything more than this is an attempt to gain control. Anything less than this is a disservice.
When you go into a restaurant, it is the server's job to bring you whatever you order. Let's say you order a grilled chicken breast. It is not the server's job to slaughter the chicken! In most cases, the server is not the one who cooks the chicken. Hopefully, the server will not add hot sauce, bar-b-que sauce, gravy or ketchup to your chicken breast unless that is what you ordered. Nor would your server be likely to tell you about the cholesterol content of the chicken skin. It would not be appropriate for the server to take your order and then go get a haircut. Once your meal is prepared and presented, it is unlikely that the server would cut or chew the chicken for you. Nor would he tell you how big to cut the chicken pieces or how long to chew them. Once you have received the meal you ordered if the server has done exactly what you asked and expected, you might leave a tip in appreciation. If the server expects the tip, he has not done his job. He has not served you.
Give what you have to offer without expectation. Do what you are asked to do -- nothing more. Give 100 percent of your attention without causing yourself harm. Give with love. Give in joy. More you cannot do. Less you must not do, if it is your intention to be of service.
Touched in Sunup
To be continued......
Let the insanities begin!
Why he-who-cooks-an-emu waits, I'll never know.
Maybe it's throwback stuff from having a very small refrigerator 'over there.
All I know is there's no 'emu' in the freezer.
And there was this scared rabbit look when he asked what we were doing for Thanksgiving.
Ummmm.....having dinner? Wild guess. We have it every year?
Oh. Well, I didn't tell him.
I should have to tell him?
So there's no turkey.
Is there ever a turkey? Emu's. We do emu's.
And he doesn't know what he'll get for a turkey at this late date.
That's cuz he'll get an emu.
Oh, and then there's the house that needs cleaned up. Carpets shampooed, he thinks.
Yeah. He can just knock his socks off with that concept. This is a lived in house and we're talking a two year old who has difficulties making the fork find her mouth on a good day--that's when she's agreeable to even put what's on her plate in her mouth.
I can't wait to see the tantrum this time.
So.......it's the insanities here as he-who-must-add-to-the-moment races around, locating the emu and all the fixings that he failed to collect prior.
There's a shopping list on the table. And another list of 'to-do's' next to it.
I added Spaghetti-O's to the list.
That's for when Mr. Fine-then-you're-done-and-you-can-leave-the-table's, stern grandad's moment passes.
It's the sticky-outty-lip-and-head-on-the-lap-while-she's-sniffling routine.
I could learn something from that kid...........
Today's Thought
People do not hear your message. That is not their responsibility. When you are given a message, an insight, a revelation, your only responsibility is to deliver what you have been given. What happens once the message is delivered, IS NOT, your responsibility. If you judge the correctness, accuracy or power of your message based on how it is received, you will miss the point. Once you, the messenger, miss the point, the message is lost.
Most of us are well aware that God uses people do to Her/His most sacred work. Often, we are not sure exactly what it is that God is doing, and we become confused. We think that it is our idea and that we are doing the work. We assume the responsibility for getting God's work done right. We exhaust our time, energy and attention trying to make people understand or accept what we are saying or doing. If we do not get support and agreement from the right people, or the right number of people, we doubt ourselves. We begin to doubt the effectiveness of the message. Ultimately, we may begin to question God's authority.
It is important not to lose sight of the fact that we are God's messengers. The purpose of the message or the work we do belongs to God. Once you try to determine who should get the message, how they should receive it and what the response should be, the purpose, power and efficacy of the message can be lost.
The View from The Road
Sales Pitch
I love when the phone rings in this house.
It's one of two things--someone trying to sell me something, or someone trying to sell me something.
I'm on the 'do not call' list for telemarketers. They call me anyway. They're not really selling me anything, dontchaknow--they're just letting me know of this great new service that's available now.
I'm on the 'do call' list for alcoholics/addicts/and partners thereof. They try to sell me all sorts of things....... They do call. Notsomuch BEFORE, which is what I hope for.....but I get to hear the sales pitch afterwards and sometimes during.
Yesterday was a during kind of moment that started at 8a.m. with a self report of:
'I'm drinking liquor. . . . .And I'm having chest pains.'
I'm convinced intoxication wasn't the issue in the decision making at that point.
Just that insane, stupid, distorted diseased mind saying 'do nothing--if you do something people will know you're drinking again'.
Death/help/death/help...... Seemed like a no-brainer to me, but I well know alcoholic/addict thinking cuz I still have it.
Did I stare at the phone after the conversations and wait for the next call to come in?
Yes.
Nitro is a wonderful thing.
It relieves angina symptoms and lets you get on with the course of your day. At least until the next episode.
Bit like an intervention with some of us folks.
It works for a chunk of time...until the next episode.
It's a heartbreaking deal--figuratively and literally.
It'd be good to remember that day in day out. But things fall out of our brains. And denial relies on that happening.
I'll get to the meeting this morning...visit with some folks and try to stay focused on what's works for me and a few countless others.
Maybe the fella will show up.
Maybe not.
I'll be there either way.
Retirement
Mr. Snowman will not be making his appearance this winter.
After ten years of frigid temps, ice storms and blizzards he's ready to retire.
Seriously.......he wouldn't inflate.
The fan was going strong--and he sorta did a half melted look. But he just wouldn't inflate to his full 8 foot snowman self.
I tried to encourage him.
I tried to help him stand upright and BE the snowman!
He's just worn too thin. And he's ready to be retired. (I asked him and he said he was.....)
*sigh*
I'm sad.
Ten years I've had Mr. Snowman out there, happily waving a holiday greeting with his little snowman muttoned hand. Ohhhhh........... *sniffle*
OH!
Oh.
And now I'm gonna fret about having to retire Studley, too.
OMG.....THAT can't happen!
EVER.
Standing Solo
Lemme do that again.....
When you know something, know it!
When you believe in something, believe it!
If your experiences have led you to understand certain things in a particular way, stand firm on what your experiences have taught you.
As you move forward, more experiences will bring you greater clarity.
As your experiences bring you greater clarity, your vision will be enhanced.
Enhanced vision will guide you in the right direction.
As you move from experience to experience, draw on your own inner strength.
Avoid the temptation to doubt yourself when other people can't see or don't understand what you are saying or feeling.
The key is to be willing to go for what you know, when you know it, with or without the company of others.
Sometimes that's a very lonely place to find yourself.
BE there anyway.
It's worth it.
Last Peek
Fairy Thought for the Day
We have the ability, right and power to create whatever we want in our lives. All we have to do is see it. We can choose to see the unlimited possibilities, rich opportunities and uncharted waters. We can choose to see that doing what we want with ease, having what we want with joy and being where we want can be used for protection and perception. When we use our eyes to project what we want into the world, we can send forth the creative power of the soul's force. When we use positive perception to interpret what we see, we avoid falling prey to doom and gloom. If we can look beyond today, its challenges and obstacles, we can create a better tomorrow. If we can see, it must come to be. That is the law.
I Am willing to see my good.
All Gone.....
Fairy Reminder
You cannot please other people. You cannot please your parents. You cannot please your friends or associates. You can never please your children! If you are trying to please your wife, husband, mate or lover, forget about it! As long as you try to please one or all of these people you will find yourself severely lacking. You may even start to believe that you are inadequate. Eventually, you may feel unworthy of the love, faith and trust they seem to place in you.
Have you ever considered that people don't really want you to please them? What they really want is for you to do what they think will make them feel good. Often, they want you to do what they think is best for you so that they will look good should you succeed. In an effort to spare themselves the pain or shame of watching you fall flat on your face, they will tell you what to do to satisfy and save their sensibilities. It has nothing to do with you! If you try to please these people without a clear understanding of their motivation, you will drive yourself crazy!
You may never be able to please anyone else, but there are a few things that you can do. Do what you do, to the best of your ability, with a loving intent, for the good of all involved. In doing this, you will be true to yourself. You will be in alignment with the purpose for your life. More important, you will be able to look at yourself in the mirror, knowing you have done the best you know how to do. Be forewarned! Anytime you try to do more than this, it can have a deadly affect on how you see yourself and, how worthy you believe that you are.
You may have been caught in the trap of living your life to please other people. They may have convinced you that it is your job to make them happy or, proud, or to feel better about you. Just for today, live for yourself with a good intention for others.
I will realize my own worth when I accept . . . it is not my job to make anyone else happy.
Prayerful Morning
Surrounded by better angels and the power of prayer.....
I prayed here yesterday, feeling a need to connect with the better angel to thank her for tending to Spadoman so very well and to ask for her continued presence--for healing and for peaceful rest.
I'm forever grateful--
G-d is good.
*sending healing, love filled thoughts to you and yours*
Thinking of you and yours, sir.
(Still...)
(--yes, I'm a nuisance! HA!)
(and yes....there's still an angel in my pocket....)
Today's Reading
When we are not clear that we are worthy, worthwhile and valuable beings, we believe that life must be hard. This belief will bring into your experience difficult situations that you will have to fight your way through. On the other end of the fight, you can then sit back and marvel at what you have done. You have bragging rights about what you have been through and come through. You are a fighter! Life is not going to get the best of you! It may be difficult for you to understand or accept that you are actually creating these situations. You are creating them to support the subconscious belief that you do not deserve to live a joy-filled or peaceful life. You are creating them to support the belief that you are not worthy of an easy, care-free life.
Just because you can take a punch does not mean you must make yourself a punching bag! When we learn how to duck and dodge the punches life sends our way, this process of living can become an exhausting habit! There are people who are in the habit of living hard lives. When you expect to be punched, you are always looking for the fist, it comes, again and again. Eventually, you become punch drunk -- waiting to be knocked down so that you can prove that you can't be or, won't be knocked out.
Life does not have to be hard! There is no good reason for you to be beaten up by the conditions in your life. If this is happening to you check out your expectations. Check to make sure that you are not waiting for the next disaster to strike, just to prove that you can take it.
You may not have been aware of the role your thoughts, words and expectations play in the creation of your life experiences. You may be creating pain in your life as a reflection of the belief that you are not worthy of anything else. Just for today, refuse to fight your way through life! Open your mind and your heart, asking that they be filled with a vision and an expectation of a joy-filled and peaceful future.
I will realize my own worth when I accept . . . life does not have to be hard.
I'm not the most patient gal on the planet.....
....But I waited over the weekend--trying to not be too much of a nuisance. It just matters to me how it's going for people I care about. I'm kinda like that.....
I doubt that the 'online crowd' finds that 'odd'--I'm also very clear people who haven't experienced this medium would struggle to 'get' just how much it does matter to me.
People tried to tell me eons ago that this was just 'words on a screen'.... Funny that it's never been that for me--ever.
I spoke to that on another persons' weblog the other day. It's just never worked for me to 'detach' and pretend there's not a person behind the print that shows up on the screen.
Yes, I understand there are folks that turn into another persona when they get on a keyboard. Yes, I understand that some times people are just plain MEAN and think that 'golden rule' doesn't apply.
Yes, I understand that 'they could be an ax murderer.', tyvm.
I'm yet to see 'here' as any different than HERE. People pretend to be who they're not 'in real life'. Some are just plain mean and dismiss the power of love and settle in their dealings with others, take what they want and move on to their next victim.
And this is different from that HOW?
Oh, I know--we delude ourselves into believing we could spot an ax murderer if they were standing next to us..... *rolling eyes* Gimme a break....
I ain't seein' it. Every lasting relationship from 'here' has turned out to be an awesome experience for me.
Every.single.one.
I guess I've been really, really graced.
I've had no excuse TO view folks 'here' as 'just words on a screen'. Nor do I give myself that excuse.
I don't give myself license to 'act' different 'here' than HERE.
Oh....and just for the record, I am NOT an ax murderer...
(Now, saying that--I don't trust anyone would find that 100% credible. I mean, c'mon.....how many ax murderers actually confess to the ax murderers that they are?!)
Perhaps I'm being naive in my thinking--or perhaps I've just been really, really, REALLY graced to have crossed paths with 'all the good ones'.
Either way--I'm good with it.
I care about people 'here' and HERE.
I figure they matter, I've come to believe that it ALL matters......day in day out.
We don't get to know how we touch the lives of others sometimes. That's okay. Sometimes people don't get an opportunity to tell us--sometimes they don't make the opportunity to tell us.
I've had some experiences that keep me making the effort to make sure I get that message to the lives that I'm graced to cross paths with. So it's no big deal for me to turn into a pest cuz I wanna know someone's okay!
*laughing*
It's just how I'm made!
But it's good--it's all good.
I sent the better angel and she ROCKS.
And G-d's taken very good care of my friend.
And I'm guessing I wasn't THAT much of a nuisance!
.....a wee bit of one, but not 'stalker' material.....LOL YET!
:-D
This too, could change! LOLOL
Resting in Red
Geeze......
At the end of the night I can sit with my stuff and create.
I knew that.
I just forgot that.
Even if it's an hour....it's worth the end results.
I forgot that, too.
So.....at this moment, I'm twisting bits of paper on toothpicks.
This was after I strung the twisted bits on string and decided that was fun.
I need to dig out my button jar and some doo-dads to add to the string.
How I let myself get in the funk of not creating.......beyond me.
I forgot, I guess.
Got lost in 'how it feels' and forgot that I create different when I create.
Yep. Craft glue. Toothpicks. LOL They're on the shopping list! ;-)
Fairy Reading
Some people have a way of acting as if their life is not their responsibility. They can give you chapter and verse of who did and didn't do whatever to make their life miserable. They can tell you point by point why they have been unable to do whatever because of whomever. They have no shame when it comes to letting you know what they don't have and can't do. Beneath it all there is someone else to blame. You try to understand, to be sympathetic. Yet, somewhere in the back of your mind, you know the truth. The truth is, everyone is responsible for their own life. The only reason any person does not have the life they want is, somewhere in the back of their mind, they don't believe they deserve it.
For some people this is a bitter pill to swallow. In fact, some people will spit the pill in your face! They will tell you about all of the attempts that have been thwarted by bad timing, bad people, or people who had bad timing. They will tell you what they have had, what they have lost, what was stolen and who stole it. They will tell you about bad luck, bad breaks, bad people, and all of the bad situations they have endured. Politely you will listen. Gently you may offer suggestions or avenues of hope. Much to your surprise, they don't want to hear it! People who are not willing to take responsibility for their lives would much rather hold on to their perceived limitations. Now you know the truth. The only reason a person does not have the life they want is because somewhere in the back of their mind, they don't believe they deserve it! They don't believe they are worthy of it! Which is why they will not take responsibility for making it happen.
Just for today, examine the reasons, excuses, limitations you may be holding on to about yourself and your worthiness. Take responsibility for getting rid of them.
QOTW
How often do you lie? (include those 'little white lies'--does the answer change?)
I'd say I'm pretty honest about being a 'liar, thief, and cheat'.
So the answer is 'Oh, just all the time!!'
Yeahyeah--I know I talk honesty day in/day out and it truly is a principle I continue to put first in my life.
I go back to tell on myself on a regular basis.
I correct things I say when I hear myself whitewashing truth.
I own the lie when I tell it.
I value honesty a whole lot.
I rely on it.
I choose to surround myself with people who care enough to tell me truths, even when they're painful truths.
But I gotta tell ya--I take great joy in lying to people and waiting to see how long it takes for it to register. *laughing*
I act like I know what himself is asking, and give him an answer that's so darn good he's apt to repeat it--and get busted out by the person he tells it to. (GREAT fun!!)
I'll invent elaborate tales and hook people--until I toss in something bizarre just to push the envelope in the credibility department.
I'll say I don't have my hand in the cookie jar AS you're standing there watching me IN the cookie jar.
:-)
My bad.
*laughing*
The Zen Bank
TFTD
So many people go through life believing they are being cheated or the world owes them something.
This world owes us nothing but the opportunity to express our highest self.
The world does not owe us a house.
We are not owed a car.
We are not owed money, furs or diamonds because the opportunity to have is ours at birth.
The Creator has wisely provided us with the most important things in life -- the air to breathe, the sun to warm and nurture, the abundant beauty of nature and the opportunity to choose.
Divine guidance and inspiration are available to all whenever they are needed.
By believing that certain things are only given to certain people, we get stuck without realizing all is available to all.
We must ask those who believe they are owed something from whom do they think it will come?
All that I am owed comes to me by choice.
Frosted
Powerful Fairy Thought
Your self-worth and sense of worthiness begins with the belief and understanding that you are not a victim! When you know who you are and whose you are, you cannot be a victim. Sure things happen to you. There are people who have dishonored you. You may have been born into a situation or circumstances that put you behind the so-called eight ball. You may have been molested or rejected. You may have been inflicted with mental, emotional or, spiritual dysfunction. None of it makes you a victim! As long as you believe it does, it will!
In Yoruba culture, the story of Odi-Ejiogbe is a case against victimization. Odi-Ejiogbe's brothers lied to him and set him up to be murdered. Through prayer and meditation, Odi-Ejiogbe was warned. He left his homeland and, instead of being killed, found wealth and riches in another village. The Biblical story of Joseph is another example. Joseph's brother's threw him into a well and sold him into slavery. They also told their father, Isaac, that he was dead. Joseph served as a slave and eventually became captain of the king's army. In that position, he was able to save his family, including his brothers from starvation. Like Odi-Ejiogbe, he knew he was not a victim. What he told his brothers is a mantra for all those who feel they have been victimized; "You meant it for evil, but God meant it for good!"
People have a propensity to do mean, mindless, irrational, irresponsible and unloving things. You know that! Rather than asking why, ask "How can I use this for my own growth?
I will realize my own worth when I accept . . . What I tell myself I am, I am.
Craft Glue .... and Toothpicks
Did I get cards worked on today?
NO.
Was the plan TO work on cards today?
*wincing*
Maybe......
It's not my fault!
Seriously....I ran out of craft glue. You can't make cards without craft glue. Well, you can...but I've learned that when you DO, stuff pops off and falls off. And that.......would be bad.
BUT!
I did have a go at paper beads.
I even took a picture on the phone and sent it off to the sister. I was pretty sure she'd be stumped.
You're making paper beads?
I glared at the text and rang her.
Hold on just a minute--she KNEW about paper beads and didn't TELL me?!
Likely story....she tells me she's seen them at craft shows.
UH huh.......
Anyway.... I made a few.
k......I made more than a few.
k.
I made 220 of 'em.
I KNOW!
I KNOW!!!
:-/
Seriously. 220.
*shrugs*
They're just too darn cute.
And you know how it goes:
If some are good-----
MORE is better.
(there's a newsflash, huh?)
(Oh......and now I'm outta toothpicks AND craft glue. )
