Today's Reading

It is such a secret place, the land of tears.
—Antoine de St. Exupery
Where do tears come from? Perhaps each of us has a private well where the tears rise from. Each of us has our own landscape of events that have hurt us or given us joy. And so we have our own private responses to the world around us. Something may hurt one of us that would not hurt another. Like the oceans and rivers, sometimes our well of tears is flowing. We do not always understand all the forces affecting the oceans, or our well of tears. The kind of bucket that draws water from a well is solid and durable, and it lowers itself deep enough to find water. Good friends and family members are like that. It is comforting to share our private well with such people.
Who will I invite to drink from my well today?

(-:
T-shirt arrived and I got a photo! *laughing* Looks dang good! Even got a thumbs up from her. And today she finally let me goad her into eating....cream of wheat. Hey.......she's been living on liquids so this is a good thing!
See!!
Hubby says not to church. :-(
Oh, pshaw--as a t-shirt, no one would know you were wearing it!
OH!! Good point!
k......you'd know.....maybe not....
Ohhhhhh......very good point.......k. Not to church.
See!!
My faith in the nice one is now restored. Hahahahahahaha
Fairy Reminder

Staying in the Present Moment
Often, one of our biggest questions is "What's going to happen?" We may ask this about our relationships, our career and our life. It is easy to tangle us up in worrisome thoughts.
Worrying about what's going to happen blocks us from functioning effectively today. It keeps us from doing our best now. It blocks us from learning and mastering today's lessons. Staying in the now, doing our best, and participating fully today are all we need to do to assure ourselves that what's going to happen tomorrow will be for the best.
Worrying about what's going to happen is a negative contribution to our future. Living in the here and now is ultimately the best thing we can do, not only for today, but also for tomorrow. It helps our relationships, our career and our life.

#5, #6, #7 and potentially #8
And then I had fun with pen TO paper.
Yes, I'm still on the month of letters kick.
And yes, the sister has happily been the recipient of every one to date.
She's been tickled, frankly.
She's been tickled, frankly.
And it's been a good thing for me to just get a sense of connected-ness.
I've warned her I was about to branch off -- and she pouted. LOL
The nice one pouted!
Yup. We are DEFINITELY related!
*laughinglaughing!!*
So--how'd I do?!
Refuse to be angry today.
Right. Wellllllll.......that didn't work so well. I rushed in to work to tend to some things that were 'absolutes' before I hit the road AGAIN.....for an all day meeting which meant that I'd miss another day of working on stuff that really needs worked on. And THEN someone asked me to help them access something online since they couldn't figure it out. And then it was a kiddo. And another staff member with a question. And a problem that needed fielded (apparently by me....) and, and, and......
Seriously--I kept doing 'refuse to be angry, Mel....don't do it!'.
Yeahwell.......not so much. I was trying to refuse to let anyone KNOW I was angry--not the same.
And apparently I sucked at it. "Mel. When you get to your car take 15 seconds and just lower your head and breathe......"
*sigh*
And then I was late to the meeting(s).
*sigh*
And then I was late to the meeting(s).
*sigh*
Do one thing for the joy of it today.
Okay--tried! The trees were just AWESOME on the drive over for the meeting(s) I was late for and I floundered around trying to get the camera case open WHILE I was driving. That's just a bad plan. So I talked myself out of it and drove--until MORE pretty trees happened. And then I figured "ehhh....late anyway--what the heck!!" So--I slowed down, opened the camera bag and voile'.......no camera. Yeahwell......not ONE 'for the joy of it' photos of the cool frosted trees!
Revert to the first fairy directive, again....... Lemme assure you, I didn't refuse to get mad at me for forgetting the camera. RAWR!!!

Bless someone today.
OH!! Did that. And that mighta been my 'joy' for the day.
The boss gave me two other spreadsheets for data collecting since I'm so flipping good at it. *gak!* I found GREAT joy at saying 'Bless you for that' to him.

Somehow I don't think that's what the fairies meant........
I SUCK!!!!

Practical
I will not be with the sister, sitting on the patio this weekend, soaking up the sun and just BEING there.
I don't know what I'm most mad about.
I'm sad about that. And a bit mad.
I'm mad I'm being practical.
I'm mad I'm being practical.
I know that it's required at this point--which is why I've rescheduled the time around the upcoming surgery, before and after.
Three weeks, which seems a lot but given the circumstances notsomuch. She was okay with rescheduling the flight and when I asked if three weeks was too much time to have to put up with me, she told me it was probably not enough.
I just wanted to get on the flight and make it happen today-- and not bother with being practical.
I know I get to be responsible--I have a job to attend to, responsibilities where my feet are. I also have the sister who's trying, best she can, to do a day at a time whatever gets put in front of her.
They haven't even called her back with a time for the PET scan. And while they've scheduled the surgery for the 12th of next month (which is what I scheduled the flight around), that's seemingly a long way off. And if between now and then they get around to the PET scan--that could change the whole course of treatment.
Okay--NOW I'm really getting mad.
It's too long of a wait and I don't want to be practical and responsible.
Too late.

Too late.
Flight's rescheduled.
I won't be on the patio with her this weekend.
I won't be on the patio with her this weekend.
I don't know what I'm most mad about.
All of it, I guess.
And here I sit....

Practical probably needs to win.....
*sigh* I think she's right about changing the flight.
I hate to admit that--but I think she's right.
If I come back on the 22nd and turn around and go back before the 12th--I think she's right.
Much more practical than I.
She wants someone there for her honey.... No. She wants ME there for her honey.
Go figure it's not about her--it's about him. I don't think she wants to think about her.
I'll pause. I'll talk with her today.
But she's probably right--doesn't make sense to go, turn around and go again 10 days later so I can be there for all that 'stuff'.
Maybe I just need to go the week before and the week of the surgery?
*sigh*
Being practical sucks. But it's probably smarter, all things told.......

Mailing #4
Fairy Reading for Today

Even if the challenges are immense and the obstacles are many, step forward and live the life you choose to live. Your dreams are worth every effort.
Even if you get knocked down again and again, get right back up and get going. With enough persistence, any goal is within your reach.
Even if no one believes you, insist on being truthful. Keep the power of truth always on your side.
Even if you can’t see all the way to the end of the road, go ahead and take the first step. Each time you make some progress, you’ll find new ways to make even more.
Even if your results fall short of your expectations, keep making the effort. Each new day brings you more experience, wisdom and effectiveness.
Even if you’ve been deeply disappointed in the past, focus on the positive possibilities. For your future is what you choose to make it now.

Yup--I'm gettin' there, methinks.
Last night I dug out a box of cards that I made and have been sitting on. WHY--dunno. I used a few for thank-you notes, but then they've sat idle.
NO MORE!
Yup--sent one out to the sister who's been the recipient of the letters to date. But I'm just warmin' up and I think I'm ready to start branching out!
Seriously......I could actually READ what I was writing. LOL
Scary......and true!
And I'm considering fun letters! Remember when writing in a circle around the page was 'cool'? Okay....maybe I'm the only one who remembers that. LOL
I wonder what creative things I could do as a letter just for the fun of it?!
Ohhhhhh.....this could be dangerous. LOLOL
Right then!
I'm gonna head off and find jammies. And consider fun things.
AND write #4 so I can mail it off in the morning. :-)
