The big arsed suck and puke snow thingy

There's a big arsed snow "blower" in the garage. It makes itself go down the sidewalk and pukes out the snow it swallows up.
WHY is there a big arsed snow "blower" in the garage?
Because I'm lucid --I can THINK and be RATIONAL and DECIDE.

Seriously, I'm darn lucky he-who-ain't-a-spring-chicken is still around to cluck after me.
And I'm seriously grateful for the neighbors who have big arsed front loaders who shoved the snow around for us last year when we had significant amounts.
Apparently I had more than one 'fit' about he-who-was-doing-it-all shoveling snow.....which I don't really recall given the state of things last winter.
Heck, if you tell me there was a month of September this year I'll be inclined to disagree-- Yeah, yeah.....I'm probably wrong--I'm pretty sure the aliens sucked me up in the mother ship and erased September.
NEEDLESS to say--

I cannot shovel snow....well, I can't shovel large amounts of snow.  I'm convinced I can move small amounts......shove it with the shovel and manage to clear a bit of a path maybe?  Yeah well....There's a REASON there's a big arsed snow "blower" in the garage.
Himself is pleased that he can manage it and clear sidewalks and drive ways.
I'm pleased he's pleased.

He'll be busy sucking up and puking snow....which leaves me the wee spots to shove snow off of while he's not around to witness.  :-D

ALWAYS thinkin', I am.......

Fairy Words for Today

If you cannot fully value and appreciate what you have, you might as well not have it. Life’s richness is valuable precisely to the extent that you make it valuable.

The way to make it valuable is to be thankful. The way to be truly thankful for what you have is to make good and meaningful use of it.

This moment is an opportunity to do just that. This situation, whatever else it may be, is your chance to create new value and richness in the present.

Look at what you have right now, but not as a static scorecard. Look at what you have and see the possibilities.

Your highest fulfillment will come not from accumulating possessions. It will come from creating and expressing new value in your own unique way.

Be truly and immensely thankful for this moment and for what’s in it.

  • make more chex mix
  • sing holiday carols loud and off key

The sad truth is that most evil is done by people who never make up their minds to be either good or evil.
--Hannah Arendt

How often have we found ourselves in a predicament and innocently saying, "How did I get into this?" When someone has been injured by our actions because we failed to think about them, do we take the responsibility? If a friend is unfairly treated on the job, do we take a stand for him? When we know people are starving, what do we do about it? When our loved ones say they are lonely and wish we would talk to them, how do we respond?

Today, we have chosen to live by our values. We cannot sit passively and fail to live up to those values. Each situation is different, so we must think about what is called for. When we do not think about our reactions, we are in danger of adding to the evil in the world. When we act upon our principles, we feel more hopeful and wholesome.

*sigh*

I've decided I like my PT team.  They're smart, they're interested, they're gabby.  And they point out some things to me that help make sense of this mess.  I figured I'd be doing PT for a bit, given the nature of the surgery and how long I'd been immobilized.  What I didn't count on was this "CRPS" showing up.
I now recognize why it was I could do that intense, all over pain that came with chemo and why it is that I'm feeling like like a whiney baby with this "CRPS" stuff.  With chemo I'd suck it up and deal with it.  And just about the time I was starting to feel better...time to go for another round.  With this deal...there's been no reprieve.  There's no break, no bits of time when it's when it's waning with the hope of it disappearing, no time frame for getting it fixed.  And right now, there's no effective solution.
Small wonder I'm feeling like some nut case whiney baby!

I try to assure the PT folks that I do have good pain tolerance.  Bit difficult to trounce around on a nonunion leg without that.  They assure me they know I do. I wanna make sure they do,  for some weird reason.  It doesn't stop me from feeling like I'm being a whiney baby about this deal.  And it doesn't convince me that I oughta whine about every piercing pain and battery acid on my skin moment I get....though apparently they really do wanna know where the pain is, if it's worse or better yaddayadda....

I did tell'em today when they assured me it was good to report things.

K.
STILL feel like a whiney arse baby.....

Were we offended by someone yesterday? Do we harbor resentment for remarks, oversights, or unpleasant mannerisms? Do we feel tense or uneasy about how someone else has treated us? We can probably make a good case to justify our reactions. Perhaps we are in the right and they are in the wrong.

Yet, even if we are justified, it doesn't matter. We may be puffing ourselves up and wasting energy. When we are oversensitive, we take a self-righteous position which leads us far from our path of spiritual awakening. Our strength is diminished.

How much better it is to let go of the lightness, let go of our grandiosity, and accept the imperfections in others. We need to accept our own imperfections too. When we do, we are better for it, and our strength and energy can be focused on richer goals.

I will accept others' imperfections; I do not need to be right.

oyy...

Yesterday it all turned a bit stupid.  That'll appatently happen when you double your dose of meds...on an empty tummy.
Pretty sure there's still some level of stupid happening.....probably closer to batty than stupid.
I'm home alone...watching The Sound of Music.
And I'm getting choked up here and there...OMG

I'm gonna blame the meds.  :-/

When Albert Schweitzer said, "The only ones of you who will be truly happy are those who have found and learned how to serve," he was stating an ancient truth - that the meaning of life lies in giving.
The quality of your life is in direct proportion to your willingness to give.

Willow's Breakfast

Hopefully optimistic

I'm kinda impressed that the doc called me back at 6:47 last night.  I mean, seriously--the norm is to wait and ring back the following morning around these parts.  I was kinda impressed.
And I'll continue to be 'hopefully optimistic' about the medications which have now been increased with the instructions to ring back next Tuesday if there's not significant relief.  **Note to self:  double today, triple on Friday.
I've had more than a few crappy nights, tossing and ripping off the blanket that's touching the acid burning on the shin/foot areas.  Sounds easy enough--'cept I'm then on fire and freezing at the same time, given it's the left leg and I sleep on the left side of the bed......  There's no comfortable solution, period.

I'm going to change the side of the bed I sleep on. so it's just the leg/affected area that's hanging out without covers.   OR....I'm gonna jerry-rig a tent at the end of the bed so none of the blankies are touching that area!  Now THAT could be fun!
I'm kinda liking that idea.  Fact is, I like that idea so much that when he asks "Is there anything you need me to do while you're working today?" I have the answer!!
WAY cooler idea than changing sides of the bed.
Besides, that'd mean changing the end table and all my 'stuff' would have to be moved....I've been on 'that side' for a verrrrry long time.

I know he-who-has-boring-brain will tell me changing sides of the bed would be the better solution.

I'll agree--I'm sure he won't mind when I roll over and punch him in the nose when the alarm goes off.

Sharing the Love Fairy

We've all heard many times that we must love ourselves if we're ever to love another. Too often we mistakenly think that means we shouldn't need to hear someone's affirmation of love. That assumption is wrong. Praise from others builds our self-confidence, keeps us on track, aware of how we're presenting ourselves moment by moment.

But many of us didn't develop healthy egos in our youth because we didn't get feedback that affirmed us. We didn't hear we were loved. As adults, we're scrambling to feel confident, to feel sure of our direction and our value to society. And we're hoping to hear we're loved. We can be certain someone close will be helped by hearing our words of love.

There's no time like the present for sharing love.

Banking on Winter

Things that make me happy....

....the small nodding, big eyed, smiling "I like pie" 4 year old.

....the smell of that pumpkin pie baking.

....wee pine cones from the neighbors tree.

....the itty bitty package the sister sent on to me.

....Penfold the 8' inflatable pengin!

....the wee star lights I put inside the lantern.

....leftover turkey!

....humming 'Frosty the Snowman'.

Intuition is a valuable form of wisdom that often seems mystical. We lose our keys and can't find them in any of the usual places and then an idea pops into our mind about where to find them. Only after the fact can we explain – maybe – why that spot came to mind. That's intuition. Or, on a higher plane, we have a feeling that a certain choice in our life would be a big mistake, or one day, for no clear reason, we expect our partner to tell us something important.

The wisdom of our intuition deserves our great respect. It is a valuable guide. Even though it is not 100 percent accurate, and we cannot expect it to be, we should not violate ourselves by contradicting it. Instead, we grow by developing our intuition, listening to what we imagine and what we feel, and following our instincts. Intuition is another form of strength.

Fairy Supplies

Ohjoy....it's Monday.......

Toss, turn--get up, walk about, climb back and try again......toss turn--get up, walk about, climb back and try again.....  *sigh*

I've never been big on sleep--but I do require those 4 hours to be functional.
That's getting more and more messed up.
I keep thinking it'll get better.  I keep hoping it'll change....

I'm witchy enough without adding tired into the equation.

Right.  Work--physical therapy at 10am--work again.  I have a few meetings to tend to, end of the month things to ensure are done......  And then there's the plan to visit with a few folks who want a bit of my time since that's been sporadic and unpredictable.

I'm desperately trying to get BACK into a routine that existed prior to the stupid ice happening.

NOTsomuch getting that bit done yet....better, but not quite where I'd like it to be.  I do NOT need to add lack of sleep to the equation.

Right....keep moving, this too shall change, I'm sure.
Oh, but we have inside decorations sprinkled here and there.

Note to self:  Put things together in a neutral place so he-who-will-say-'we-always-put-this-______' won't make ya wanna use the crutch as a spear from 20 feet away.  :-/

Keeping it simple means doing only the next right thing, not a sequence of fourteen things all at once. To keep something simple means to focus on only a tiny bit of the problem at a time. If we employ a little hindsight, we'll quickly recall how many situations began to improve as we attended to just a portion of them.
