Easy Peasy!

Have yourself a very laidback Christmas
Let your hearts be light
Cuz tonight.... your pizza
Will be delivered right..... lalalalalala

:-D
Yup--pizza and chicken and breadsticks and loads of munchies and sweets and goodies!
NOT the traditional deal (that'll come tomorrow), but something easy and fun.
Really--"let's not kill ourselves trying to prepare so much 'stuff' that we're not enjoying the moment".

Leastwise that's the thinking in the decision.
We're tired....we've been battling the edge of the crud for weeks...I'm still hobblin' around and dealing with 'craps'...and we're *ahem* old.
Well, HE is, anyway.....and since I'm not willing to take over the cooking responsibilities--BRING ON THE PIZZA!!!!!!
We'll have pizza, do prezzies, toss wads of wrapping paper at each other, PLAY and eat some more--and send 'em on their merry way to put out cookies and milk for Santa.....Bug can have her Christmas morning at her own house.  Grandad'll be happily emptying his stocking from Jolly St. Nick while Nana happily sips coffee from her new mug, laughing at HAPPY Bug photos sent from the iPhone.
It's a good arrangement--meant to put the support in place cuz I was one of those that got 'drug around' from one family gathering to another and never really got an opportunity to establish 'traditions' for the kiddos until family dynamics/loss happened.

Yep--I'm the reason the girl says no to showing up at other places on the eve's night and morning of the holiday.  "My Mom won't let me."  (*laughing*)  is a heavy load, but I'm pretty sure I can handle it.

Christmas, I guess, is what we make it. For us, simple is good.. with no strain on the brain family gatherings. It works for us, though every now and then I dream of having a functional sane family to share Christmas with.
You've helped clear cobwebs, and I will forever be grateful. ♥

I see I am not alone in wandering the halls at almost 2am saying Merry Merry to anyone left to say it to.
I loved your post and somehow it made me feel like all is right with the world. Perhaps it is the sense of "everything is going to be ok no matter what, how, why... " Love and the rest follows. i think you're right, wise "old" woman sage...

i shall be with you in spirit and do hope you do not cook yourself silly. i lay here coughing, sneezing, aching and chilling, doubtful much other than hot tea is coming my way. somehow i think someone will make it all happen as the prezzies happened tonight and always, that is fun. who doesn't love a prezzie or 3.

my love to you, sweet, dear mel. ♥
