*frowning*

Hail.
In January.
Lightening, thunder AND hail.
IN January.

It IS January, right?
Methinks the Big Guy needs more coffee......

And the reward for a job well done......

Rubber Ducky, you're the one,
You make bathtime lots of fun,
Rubber Ducky, I'm awfully fond of you;

Woo woo be doo

Rubber Ducky, joy of joys,
When I squeeze you, you make noise!
Rubber Ducky, you're my very best friend, it's true!

Doo doo doo doo, doo doo

Every day when I
Make my way to the tubby
I find a little fella who's
Cute and yellow and chubby

Rub-a-dub-a-dubby!

Rubber Ducky, you're so fine
And I'm lucky that you're mine
Rubber ducky, I'm awfully fond of you.

Every day when I
Make my way to the tubby
I find a little fella who's
Cute and yellow and chubby

Rubber Ducky, you're so fine
And I'm lucky that you're mine
Rubber ducky, I'm awfully fond of -
Rubber ducky, I'd like a whole pond of -
Rubber ducky I'm awfully fond of you!

Doo doo, be doo

*happily squeaking the rubber ducky*

Did I make my 24 hours Cussword-Free?

You betcher sweet rubber duckie waddle I did! LOL

And, by the way--the reward for a job well done--a job well done, of course.

Oh.......AND a duckie bath!

:-)

We played with trains!

:-)
Wooooooooo Wooooooooo!!
:-)

***Warning: Derailed train MAY result in naughty language.

*mumbling*

JUST for the record---

Drunken sailor talk happened at 8:37pm last night.
Himself laughed and immediately left the scene to cross off the previous time (yes, he's keeping track ON paper.......).

RAWWRRR!!!

(please note that mumbling did NOT include naughty words....)

:-)

Ending relationships or changing the boundaries of a particular relationship is not easy.
It requires courage and faith.
It requires a willingness on our part to take care of ourselves and, sometimes, to stand-alone for a while.

Let go of fear.
Understand that change is an important part of life and living.
Love yourself enough to do what you need to do to take care of yourself, and find enough confidence to believe that you will love again.

We are never starting over.
We are moving forward in a perfectly planned progression of lessons.
We will find ourselves with certain people - in love, family, friendships, and work - when we need to be with them.
When the lesson has been mastered, we will move on.
We will find ourselves in a new place, learning new lessons, with new people.
No, the lessons are not all painful.
We will arrive at that place where we can learn, not from pain, but from joy and love.
Our needs will get met.

Today, I will accept where I am in my relationships, even if that place is awkward and uncomfortable.
If I am in the midst of endings, I will face and accept my grief.
God, help me trust that the path I am on has been perfectly and lovingly planned for me.
Help me believe that my relationships are teaching me important lessons.
Help me accept and be grateful for middles, endings, and new beginnings.

Just call me a drunken sailor.

k.....

*sigh*

On occasion, I swear.
I mean--OCCASIONALLY I curse.
I'm not, like....some drunken sailor or anything.

Himself rarely mutters a naughty word.
k....He rarely mutters a naughty word that I UNDERSTAND as a naughty word. LOL
I do think he has a 'secret, foreign language' (LOL HE calls it English) and ends up looking all pure and innocent cuz we just don't KNOW they're naughty words!

So I'm going curse free for 24 hours!
Mostly cuz he said I couldn't. LOL
We had to have an understanding of exactly what qualified as a curse word, of course.
So the two of us sat at in the coffee niche and cursed. LOL
(glad there were no witness for that one....LOL)

And if I DO, by some odd chance, curse--I start my 24 hours over again.

Okey dokey.....easy peasy!
I'm a determined person!
I can do this with minimal effort.
He laughed.
Even MORE reason to take him to task!

k........

11:15am--READY, set......GO!

Yeah, yeah....I called him a 'chicken ****' at 11:17.
(he IS!)
*hanging head*

k...READY, set....GO!

12:25 I experienced a not so good moment with my shoe and twisted my ankle.
(don't ask....)
Arrrrrghhhh. (oh, if that woulda only been the word outta my mouth....)

k.....READY, set....GO!

12:27 the stupid LAST onion I had was rotten in the middle and spaghetti sauce needed made.
AND ---We have company coming, dangitall!
(that, by the way is NOT a curse word and starting over wouldn't have had to happen HAD I USED IT!)
Fudgebuckets! (nope, that's not what I called the onion messing with MY plans, sending me TO the grocery store--which I DEARLY love visiting, dontchaknow........)

k......READY, set........GO!!

I was sailin' along pretty good.
And then it happened.
Yep.....
12:55--The STUPID cord to the STUPID vacuum cleaner wrapped itself around the STUPID lamp in the STUPID livingroom.
Rawr.
RAWWWRRR!!!

*sigh*
I 'rawrr-ed' AFTER I said a........ different word.

RAWR!

k......READY, set........GO!

JUST so ya know--I'm now three hours, curse-free!
Wooohooooo!

GO ME!!!!!!!!!

(k......How long can you keep tape over your lips before it pulls off all your skin?)

I've NEVER liked pink.....

But I'm celebrating PINK!
Wooooohooooo! Houston, we have PINK!

(It's a whole lot better than red, lemmetellya.)

Reminder to me: BE NICE and thank the overly happy Veterinarian who jabbed you in the arse.

The 'other' reading fairy....

If we all let go of one thing we like,
and take instead each other's hand;
if we all let go of three minutes each day,
and find instead a few perfect words for someone in the house;
if we all withhold our judgments for one hour,
and reveal during that time one of our own small secrets;
if we all skip the same meal each week,
and spend the time together in the park;
would we have less or more than what we started with?

Today's Reading from the Reading Fairies

Kindness and intelligence don't always deliver us from the pitfalls and traps. There is no way to take the danger out of human relationships.--Barbara Grizzuti Harrison

Relationships with other people are necessary to escape loneliness; however, relationships do not guarantee freedom from pain.
Nurturing a meaningful relationship with another human being takes patience, even when we don't have any.
It takes tolerance, even if we don't feel it.
It takes selflessness, at those very moments our own ego is crying for attention.
We need relationships with others.
We learn who we are and who we can become through relationships.
Our creativity is encouraged by them, and so is our emotional and spiritual development.

We can look around us, attentively.
We can feel blessed, even when it's a negative situation.
Every situation is capable of inspiring a positive step forward.
Every situation is meant for our good.

There's risk in human relationships, and it's often accompanied by pain.
But I am guaranteed growth, and I will find the happiness I seek.

Today's Thought

When you choose to see yourself as apart from others, you separate yourself from your greatest possibilities.

Cuz it's pretty?

I went to the doctor and the doctor said......

NO MORE monkeys jumpin' on the bed!

.....ummmmm......actually what he said was this 'curse of the red eye' oughta be done by now.

And "obviously you need something with a little more oompfh to it".... Which is when he emailed the pharmacy the script. (wow--talk about technological advances.....)

"AND a chaser....."
....Which is when he pulled the syringe outta his pocket.

Oh C'MON!!!!!!
The infection is in my EYE not my ARSE!!!!

*sigh*

I'm the only one I know who gets a shot in the rearend for an eye infection.
Stupid compromised immune system crappola........*grumbling*

I shoulda asked to see his license to practice again.
I SWEAR he whited out the 'veterinary medicines' part. *muttering*

And "two drops in each eye, twice a day, for seven days....... Is there someone who can hold you down?"
Ha ha. Very funny doc.......

Ummmmm....

He wasn't foolin'.

$112 for the teensy weensy bottle.

I'm thinkin' I took it in the arse twice in one visit. LOL

k.........

To be receptive, we must not be so busy with what we can control that we fail to notice all the experiences, which are there for us.

Our senses need to be open to see what is around us and hear what is in the air.

We must breathe in the beauty and pain of life.

When there is a message in our experiences, let us read it and not demand it fit our narrow, logical minds.

Okay..... If there's one surefire way to get me to toss the book, it's to ask me to 'breathe IN the beauty and pain of life'.

And just WHO are the fairies accusing of having a narrow, logical mind?!

*tossing book*

LOL Can ya tell it's been a longggggggggg week?

.....iSuck.......

A bit like the leaves on the oak....fringed with iciness, fluttering about in the breeze, waiting for the turning of whatever's to turn....
"Wait" has never been my strong point.

I'm an impatient cuss.....but I know, somewhere in this brain I DO know, that it's wise to 'wait', to 'buy time' and to 'let go'.
*pulling back the claws*
Oops? LOL

Wait.
Be STILL.

*waiting and being STILL*
*looking around*
*flipping through the Snoopy calendar*
*whistling and fidgeting*

*making the iPenguin dance*

:-)

Okey dokey....thanks for that helpful reminder.....

Some people walk in the rain. Others just get wet.--Roger Miller

Gifts are usually surprises.

We don't generally know what the ribbons, bows, and wrapping conceal.

Life's greatest misfortunes are, in retrospect, often referred to as gifts.

While our debt can feel like a curse, when we finally get to the bottom of what's happened to us, we're surprised to find something good - a gift or blessing of sorts.
Through our misfortune, we may have developed some true and lasting relationships, learned we had some admirable qualities we didn't know we had, or discovered the meaning of courage.

Today, if I am struggling. I will anticipate the wondrous surprise to come.

Really....

The Recipe For Mel

3 parts Mischief
2 parts Poise
1 part Daring

Splash of Energy

Chug!

*snickering*
Not bad....but I'm thinkin' we're missing a few ingredients.
And just for the record-- I'm much better 'stirred, not shaken'.

Of COURSE they're 'starving'.......

Seeless and Fluffy--
The two bandits. LOL
I've clearly spoken to them about which feeder is theirs and which is NOT.
Do they listen?
No better than I do!

Can I just note that himself insisted that the 'poor starving squirrels' needed some new food put on the tray when EVERYone knows the tray's reserved for Mr. Cardinal and the finchy guys?
What a pushover........

And YES--some idiot trudged through the almost two feet of snow to put food on the tray.
NOT for Seeless and Fluffy, mind you.
Clearly they're NOT starving.
Mr. Cardinal and the finchy guys thank me, I'm sure.
That's IF they show up from all the banging on the window I'm doing to ward off the bandits. LOL

NO it doesn't work!
I bang and those two bandits wave and tell me how GREAT the food is.....

*rolling eye*
(singular, of course--cuz I'm being 'gentle' with the red one....LOL)

Reminder to self...patience is a virtue?

k......I'm a creature of habit.
I admit it.
I also admit that I don't like when my habits are messed with.....
More than that, I don't like when I suddenly feel alienated from people that matter to me.
*sigh*
k....... I'm sad.

More than sad.

Every morning and every evening I'm reminded of what I don't have.
Which sucks.

I know, I know...human beings do what they do cuz they feel a need to do it.
And I don't get to know where another persons feet are taking them--just that it's 'okay' for them to be right where their feet are.

Acceptance, Mel.
Try a bit of acceptance.
It ain't all about YOU.

*sigh*
k.......I'm still sad.......

Patience....wait....

Yeah, yeah.......
Practice, practice, practice.

k.....
.............but I'm STILL gonna be sad, dangitall......

The continuing saga of the hippopotamus for Christmas......

*chuckling*
Now I know most folks would think "NAUGHTY hippo".
I think "GOOD BOY!!" (no more concerns about who's gonna be the designated driver!)

But drinking all the coffee?!
NAUGHTY!

I might wanna rethink my position about that hippopotamus.

Might, mind you.
On the other hand.......might not! LOL

You'd think SOMEone was trying to 'dis-suade' me from my request or somethin'.

So what if we put the very tall Hanukkah Bush away last evening and the magic button got pushed multiple times.

ummm.......
Yes thank you, I think I'd LIKE to pack up that "I wanna hippopotamus" singing button.

(k.......I lied..... I shoved it into the end table's cupboard when he wasn't lookin'...LOL)
