I'm tired.
It's been a very long week.
Himself asked if I wanted to go out to dinner tonight--
The response was "I'd like to stay home and veg......it's been the week from hell......"
And really-- it's been a longgggggggg week.
Sunday I did frantic work from home from 4pm to 11:30pm....
Monday I repeated the insanity 5:30pm to 12:30 am--and this was after a 10 hour day..... Yup, I was racing from one worksite to another--take care of payroll, get to a meeting, run to another meeting and show up for that teleconference training the boss 'would really like' me attending.....
Follow that up with Tuesday's 13 hour day, Wednesday's 9 hour day with multiple disciplinary issues happening, Thursdays snaffu courtesy of one of my supervisors which resulted in a 14 hour day and today..........Oh, today the boss told me to take off early. LOL
And I did.....after 8 hours cuz I had a bazillion things to attend to before the weekend happened.
Excuse me while I do the math.....
Yup. That's a WHOLE lotta time.
More importantly--that was a whole lotta intense situations that I got to attend to.
I won't even gonna mention the storms that've been going on around here which have made for interrupted sleep three nights in a row. (k.......thinkin' I JUST mentioned it!)
Small wonder tonight--it was 'Pass!' when himself suggested dinner out.
I did manage to put my feet up for almost an hour before I jumped up and flew into the house for my sneaks.
HELLLLLLLLLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Mel!?!
OMGosh.....I have soooooooo have mush for brains.......
I managed to show up in time for the Survivors Walk.
I'da had some pretty disappointed people had that not happened.
And I did manage to put four hours into walking around the track before I just HAD to call it good to go.
Mind you--this was after multiple text messages from himself asking me to 'please stop and come home'.
He was clearly using hardball tactics when he made the 'I'm making coffee for you' text happen. LOL
And ya know--honestly......it wasn't the text messages or the coffee bribe....
It wasn't the 'week from hell' or the long hours or the tired body and weary mind that took me home earlier than I've left any other Relay for Life event.
It was the color of purple.
The luminaries with name... after name... after name of those who've been claimed by a disease that I'm graced to have some victories over, today......and it was the color of purple that sent me home, cheeks stained from the tears.....
