Sleeping with Bread

We are going to know a new freedom and a new happiness.
We will not regret the past nor wish to shut the door on it.
We will comprehend the word serenity and we will know peace.
No matter how far down the scale we have gone, we will see how our experience can benefit others.
That feeling of uselessness and self-pity will disappear.
We will lose interest in selfish things and gain interest in our fellows.
Self-seeking will slip away.
Our whole attitude and outlook upon life will change.
Fear of people and of economic insecurity will leave us.
We will intuitively know how to handle situations which used to baffle us.
We will suddenly realize that God is doing for us what we could not do for ourselves.

Because I've been where I've been.
Because I know what I know.
Because I am where I am....
....this has been my daily 'starting point' and 'end of the day inventory' for the week.

Back to basics.
Back to the familiar.
Back to that which I know by heart, in my heart.
Back to that which I've experienced with my whole being, over and over and over again.

Himself tells me I don't live like other people.
He tells me I do odd things.

He's right.

Those things 'odd' to him, are familiar to me.
They don't interfere with my ability to 'appear normal' to the others in my life.
Those who are invited into other parts of my life are aware of the practices, the way of living that's sustained me for a very long time.

None of it is 'odd' to me.

Practicing what I've practiced has brought those things 'promised' to me.....over and over again.

This week has been a rollercoaster of events.
Happenings.
Circumstances.
People, places, things...all 'stuff' I don't get to be in charge of.

I admit it.
There were times I went along for the ride.

There were also times I got off, or stayed off and pulled out my crayons to colour my own world.

I rather like the colour of freedom, happiness, serenity and peace.

You are such a tough cookie, Miss Mel, to have gone through what you've gone through. it's no wonder sometimes it just gets difficult. Life does for all of us doesn't it? And your old methods of dealing with it are shite. The new methods the ones you hold dear to you, now they work, even if sometimes the need is to say sod it and wish to go back to a previous time when you weren't responsible.
Sending you healing thoughts and fortitude. You know what you have to do to stay sane, whatever the temptation.
Love and big hugs

If I have learned anything from you it's that we make our choices consciously and make the best of what's available.

You still make make sense to me, and I am here for the long term.
