When they ring to tell you not to come in......

For the past GOSH knows how long I've gotten calls in the early morning hours from my staff.
I have a 'not quite up to par' immune system.
I also have protective staff.

"We've got strep on the unit--either you're going to work from home or you're going to stay downstairs......"

"Flu alert, flu alert!!! STAY AWAY!!" (that one makes me laugh....by the time it's diagnosed, it's already been tossed in my direction anyway!)

"Staph infection--got work you can do from home?"

*sigh*
They're forever trying to make sure I'm 'safe' and staying AWAY from the sickies.
Bless their hearts. I know they mean well.
I also know I don't cater to being 'told'.
I also know that's 24 kiddos and at least 24 families and at any given day, at least 32 staff with at least 32 families....sheeeeeeeshhhhhh......
Whaddaya think the odds are that I'm gonna avoid all germy people?!

So this morning when the phone rang--I just shook my head. Good grief, I was there late last evening--whatever was floating around surely found me already.....

"You don't need to come in today......."

Right. Germs-R-Us again?

"Nah......no kids."

k.......you don't offer that up and not give the explanation. I start to think baddddd things like some mass exodus happened without my knowledge!!!

Oh, no......they've got a field trip for school and there's literally TWO kids at the unit all day today.

Now--again.....what it is I'm suppose to do when I have an unplanned day off?
