Fairy Reading for Today

Sometimes two minuses make a plus. --Edith Shannon

What appears to be a problem sometimes turns out to be a most beneficial circumstance. We live only in the present, and it generally takes the perspective of hindsight to get the full meaning of an event. Over the years, we have learned that some of our best lessons actually caused us pain while we were in their clutches. What a relief to be able to see, now, that they had their silver lining. This principle still holds true. We have had a lot of years to learn to take our experiences in stride, giving them no more weight than they deserve. But it's easy to forget that it's the accumulation of them all that defines who we are. The lost jobs, the friends who left, the hurdles in a marriage all played their part in the people we've become today.

We are who we need to be right now. I can't let a setback set me back today. I am evolving right on schedule.

Gosh this could have been put up'specially for me.
Yesterday, a man I went out with 9 years ago sent me Christmas greetings in two put down texts. We haven't bumped into each other for 3 years. I've never had a greeting before.Made me realise what I'd learnt in the meantime. Thank you you fairy for sharing with me as I did feel alone in this not very nice situation .

AWESOME post, Mel!

And so perfect for the New Year!

" Over the years, we have learned that some of our best lessons actually caused us pain while we were in their clutches. What a relief to be able to see, now, that they had their silver lining."

Yes, I have definitely learned that. In fact, when looking back on painful experiences/challenges, I know think of them in fondness because I can see the silver lining!

"I am evolving right on schedule."

A-MEN!

Thanks for sharing, dear lady!

hi Mel, I like this part especially -- learn to take our experiences in stride, giving them no more weight than they deserve.

That is a definite challenge for me. I struggle to maintain a balanced perspective during times of stress.

Thank you for the wonderful reminder.

And I'm so happy that you've found some fun in making paper beads. Isn't it ridiculously addictive? I don't need any more, but I still find myself coveting certain types of paper thinking to myself that it would make the prettiest beads....!

let me know if you have pinterest boards --- I have the most difficult time navigating through that online spiderweb.

wishing you an early happy new year and much love. I'm so glad that our paths have crossed! Your combination of wit and wisdom speak to me :)
