It passed! It PASSED!!!

*puffing up in pride*

k.......that's probably disallowed but I did it anyway.

The budget proposal passed!! YIPPEE!!!!!!
k........well, it passed the boss. So YEAH that the first round is done!
(g'head.....ask how many times the first round budget actually passes and gets finalized?!)
Hey....last year I was redoing it multiple times. I'M please.
And I'm pleased to have done MY math correctly. The boss did not. ROFL
This from a gal who paid someone to do her math in college. *snickering*

Now--all I have to do is MEET budget for a year.
Oy........

Never ends. LOL
Ah well, when you're playing with someone elses multi-millions, it's not 'real' money?
Nah....it's just people's LIVES we're talking about, Mel!

NO PRESSURE!!!!!
Oy oy oy!!

That was fun!

Thanks, Carolyn!! :-)

My brain is weird.....

I have a strange brain.
Boy........now there's a true statement. LOL
I was going to go on about my thinking, but I really do have a strange brain. Every time I get a *whir click* scan the tech comes in with the most somberest of expressions. LOL
Sometimes I mess with 'em, only cuz I know they're flying blind and don't have a clue that *I* have a clue as to what's showing up on their pretty little films.
I know, I know....not nice! LOL I do it anyway.

Yeah, yeah......back to the thinking problem this morning.

I have to get dressed to go to work.
ALERT THE NEWS MEDIA!!!!!
This could be an interesting proposition.
I have a tough enough time dealing with getting dressed when things actually FIT. When I have two closets filled of things that DON'T fit--LOOK OUT!!!!!
The good thing is I located a couple pairs of dress slacks that fit without a wrinkle across the....ummmm.....yeah....LOL
The bad thing--is my brain tells me 'no need for the doctor's appointment--get a different size and carry on, ya dork!'.
Personally, I like that line of thinking.
Unfortunately, I don't like the questioning 'himself' who keeps eyeballing my plate and trying to feed me at times I'm a) not especially hungry and b) I've already had 'an elegant sufficiency', thanksverymuch.

And instead of ringing the physician (if I looked, which I don't particularly WANNA look, undoubtedly it's probably about 'fear'--all this avoidance of mine) I've decided I'll leave a tad early and grab another couple of slacks before I head to my budget meeting this morning.
What better way to deal with a multi-million dollar budget proposal than going out and blowing your own?!
*sigh*

If I tell on myself I'm more prone to 'do the right thing'?
*bigger sigh and shrug*

Perfect Timing......

If we could untangle the mysteries of life and unravel the energies which run through the world; if we could evaluate correctly the significance of passing events; if we could measure the struggles, dilemmas, and aspirations of mankind, we could find that nothing is born out of time. Everything comes at its appointed moment.--Joseph R. Sizoo
Believing that things happen too slowly or too quickly is an illusion. Timing is perfect.

Boycott and Budgets

Yep. If I sit here at the keyboard NONE of those 'thank you' notes are getting done...none of those 'good eggs' are getting filled/written on.
Gee....I wonder if the Brit is up for colouring pretties on the eggs? LOL

In the meantime, it was near sixty degrees today (don't worry--this won't last, I'm sure!) and THE last place that I wanted to be was at work.
Ummmm....especially cuz I've been whittling away at the budget proposal for next year.
It's due tomorrow. I spent a good deal of time with the calculator this weekend.
(calculators ARE my friend, calculators ARE my friend--ohhhhmmmmmm......)

And today when the boss emailed me to set a time to get together tomorrow I advised him that I was 'done'--though I wasn't convinced I knew what I was doing.
*rolling eyes*
He was convinced that I DID know what I was doing.

I won.

He wanted me to look at 48 weeks=one year.
Huh?!
Ummm.....
Excuse me--didn't you know there are 52 weeks in a year?

Yep--he did. Only he wants squiggle room in making the year equal to 48 weeks.
AUGHHHHHHH!!!!

So, much to my dismay I was 'redoing' the budget that I'd spent time doing at home (for the soul purpose of getting to play with kiddos and families while I was AT the worksite, mind you!).
So much for getting to 'play' with kiddos and families.
*sigh*

I think I'm done with the stupid budget now.....
But I thought I was done when he rang this morning!

I tried to look pathetic when the staff popped into the kiddos lounge where I was working with papers all over and my handy dandy little calculator---really, I tried!
I was in the kiddos lounge because I absolutely refused to go to the office.
I'm boycotting the office, btw.

I was fine the first few times the boss said it, but if I hear "You're a MANAGER" ONE MORE TIME--I'm boarding up the office and going to Tahiti.
And I'm taking my budget WITH me! Hmmmmmmmph!!!!!

Let's not forget.....

The 'good egg' project!

WHY can't I do anything in moderation?
LOL
And of course, I wanna decorate the eggs.....duh!!

The assembly line product(s)

Thirty two cards and pins--done.
Okay--'done' cuz they're constructed and ready for the writing bit.

k.......where'd I leave that pen? LOL

Sunday, March 11, 2007

.........k.........

Alrighty then!

Got that song that was stuck UNstuck!
Didn't take long at all......Nope.
It just POPPED right out without a problem.

Whoooooooooooshhhhhhhh.........GONE!!

Uh huh........*waves at song* Bye Bye!!

k.....
I'm not panicking.
Really.
I'm not.
Well--I might be a bit........
Whatever.....it's not panic.
I know panic.
This is NOT panic.

It's all good.
I just need to never read another email from the girl again.
EVER....in this lifetime.
NEVER ever.
I'll skip over 'em from now on.
Yep.
'Specially on a Sunday night!

"Oh....and when I came back home from Ireland I got a shiny purdy ring from the other other boy - don't worry mom, its not an engagement ring! It is, however, a promise ring... At least that's what I'm told... Anyway, its purdy.
So - do you want to do lunch next Sunday? I'm available!"

....oh......my.......g-d.........

I AM NOT PANICKING!

Edited To Add:
And I'm not ringing her! Nope. Ain't gonna happen....
Nope...I'm not picking up that phone and no one can make me.

Ohhhhhhhhh....I get it.
It's like that time she decided THE best time to 'break it to me gently' about that butterfly tattoo on her back was when I had a friend in tow who dons a tattoo.

k...I'm gonna go play with rubber duckies......
And if that phone rings--I'll just slip myself under the water and make drowning noises......
That'll work, I'm sure of it......

*sigh* Stucksongitus

Think of me....think of me fondly, when we've said goodbye.
Remember me once in a while -please promise me you'll try.
When you find that, once again, you long to take your heart back and be free -
if you ever find a moment, spare a thoughtfor me.
We never said our love was evergreen, or as unchanging as the sea -
but if you can still remember stop and think of me . . .
Think of all the things we've shared and seen -
don't think about the things which might have been . . .
Think of me, think of me waking, silent and resigned.
Imagine me, trying too hard to put you from my mind.
Recall those days look back on all those times, think of the things we'll never do -
there will never be a day, when I won't thinkof you .
We never said our love was evergreen, or as unchanging as the sea -
but please promise me, that sometimes you will think of me!

QOTW 3/11

Pick an area--what REALLY needs spring cleaning done on it ASAP?
Uh oh.....LOL......just ONE?
Will this bind me to actually DOING it?
(think 'small' if that's the case! LOL)
Right........
*looking at dirty windows*
*remembering the cluttered linen closet*
*wincing at how big of a mess the storage room is*
ONE?!
The garage.
It's a catchall for things during the winter. The recycle-ables are out there. All the garden stuff.....wreaths that I got lazy with and didn't 'undecorate' and instead just stuck 'em in the garage. Yikes.
Leaves and mud and ........ crud galore.
Can I change my mind? LOL I'd rather straighten the linen closet!

Wise tidbit #7

"Everything your heart experiences about God tells you that God is good. Everything your leaders teach you about God tells you God is bad. Your heart tells you God is to be loved without fear. Your teachers tell you God is to be feared, for He is a vengeful God. You are to live in fear of God's wrath, they say. You are to tremble in His presence. Your whole life through you are to fear the judgment of the Lord. For the Lord is "just", you are told. And God knows, you will be in trouble when you confront the terrible justice of the Lord. You are, therefore, to be 'obedient' to God's commands. Or else.

".....If you choose to believe in a God who somehow needs something--and has such hurt feelings if He doesn't get it that He punishes those from whom He expected to receive it--then you choose to believe in a God much smaller than (God IS). You truly are Children of a Lesser God....."

For my own reference--

In case I EVER get a wild hair like this again.
*chuckling*
I'd be lying if I said I wasn't having a good time.
I've got half the tags put together and on cards, ready for writing.
I've decided to put magnets on some. The Brit seems to think that's a bad idea--he got all worked up cuz one of the tags didn't have a star on it. LOL
No worries, he rectified that.
Can't have a staff member thinking they weren't deserving of a 'star', dontchaknow!!
Frankly, they're all deserving of two.
Oh geeze.....I won't say that out loud.
I'm smarter than that!
And the project 'grew'.
Himself told me we were going to get plastic eggs and fill 'em with goodies for all the 'good eggs' who work with me.
That sounds cool, huh?
Yeah.....he can do the stuffing of plastic eggs while I write in the bazillion cards that I'm making!

Because I was asked to participate--

;-)

Yep....busy-making

I decided I'd put together some cards for the staff who've been dealing in a whole lot of 'stuff' at work relatively well. Snow storms, staff positions that have stayed open....longer hours.... The good news is that I don't ask people to do anything I'm not willing to do myself.
Pins that'll go on the cards and some magnets that'll pull off the cards.
Round one!
Only three more rounds to go after this!
What WAS I thinking. LOL
That's just the decoration....
I was THINKIN' I'd hand write the cards.
Ya know.....I still have those silly handwritten notes my boss gave me ten years ago.
Oh geeze......I hope I'm not the ONLY person who's quirky like that!
That would be bad!
LOL

Sleeping With Bread

If I give thought to 'the week in review'--I really have no complaints.

Oh, I KNOW I kvetch something fierce here.
Here's a place to put some order to my disordered thinking.
Here's a place to sort of settle in--and I let my fingers do the talking. THIS would be why 'sitting on my hands' is sometimes a good plan. I've got years and years and YEARS of training on how to keep my mouth still and 'buy time'.
I've got way less practice in stopping fingers when they get to zipping around the keyboard. And truth is, it's just mighty good practice for me (not the typing, thought that's not a bad thing to practice either) to move the thinking into black and white so I can get a good laugh at how distorted and screwed up I still am. Heck, on occasion I get to feel kinda good about NOT distorted it is. (honestly, it's wayyyy less angry and fearfilled than it's ever been.....that's a really good thing)

I'm getting to live a very full and love-filled life.
And the top of my 'bestest' moments in time this week was the duckie soap.
Yep--89 cents worth of it. (I'm a real cheap date!)
Snagged at the store when we were doing the 'to do' things....duckie soap makes for a better world.

Really--it is the little things that bring me the greatest joy.
The duckie soap.
The note left from a staff members thanking me for having pizza delivered at ten at night JUST for them.
The laughing boss who reminded me, after the room emptied of all the others, of why he 'chose me' to do what I'm now getting to do.
The email from an old employee who simply stated how she missed the work environment that she's never been able to 'find' since she's left.
Himself grabbing me to do a bit of a dance to a song from his more 'youthful' days....in the hallway....still in my coat.
The joy of discovering the mad bug button. LOL
Grabbing all sorts of fun 'things' to put on cards/pins that I'm about to make for my whole crew of people who continue to show up in a very demanding and extremely emotionally draining worksite.
Smooshing a snowball together and tossing it at a 'omg--I'd NEVER toss a snowball at HIM' type of person. *shrugs* I do so love playing outside that box!
That little note one of the kiddos passed me, thanking me for helping her--and the gum wrapped up in it. (yeah, yeah....so I don't chew gum--SHE does.)

'Little things' don't get enough 'black and white' time from my fingers around this joint.
That's why I like this structured time to remind myself.

The nightly inventory I do is two fold--assets/liabilities.
It's a 'discipline' I've been beaten into submission (LOL) to do.
I'm kinda like that...
But when I give myself the luxury to indulge in only a piece of the whole, I'm creating a running record of 'uck' and leaving out 7/8's of my life.

That'd be an awful BIG distortion....

The mad bug button

It's not a bug in that box next to the text colours for the blog post. It's a *insert music* HYPERLINK!

Yeah, yeah.......the whole rest of the world probably knows what this is and I'm just catching up. The girl calmly explained it to me.

"Mom........you just highlight and copy the url you want to pop up, then type the word you want to hide that webpage in on your post. Highlight that word with your mouse and then click that 'mad bug button' and paste in the url you copied."

Okay....so the 'mad bug button' is called a HYPERLINK and the whole world probably knows it.
*I* didn't know what that darn button was for.
And I sure didn't know how to use it!

For those of us (ME, first and foremost) who have NO clue how to make linky thingamabobs--discovery of the mad green bug button is cause for celebration!
That little, green, mad bug button has been right next to the text colours button on the posting bar the whole time, dangit!!

Copy the url you want to 'mad bug'.
Type the word you wanna hide the 'mad bug' in. Mad bug.
Highlight the word and click the 'mad bug' button.
Paste in the url you copied and click.

Woooooohooooooooooo!!!!!!
I can MAD BUG!!
:-)

(If *I* can mad bug....so can the world!! LOL)
And bless the girl for helping me mad bug without feeling silly?

Thursday, March 08, 2007

Well, THAT was shortlived!

LOL

RIGHT back to MEMEME!!

Oy brother.........

So..it's Thursday and I get to go to a new and 'special' meeting.
*rolling eyes*

Doesn't my boss know that I'm NOT a meeting kinda gal?
"THIS is where we make decisions about the whole ball of wax."

What makes him think including me in this is a good plan, I do not know.
I've been known to be a 'dangerous' thinker.
AND I don't have anything to wear.

Literally.
Okay.....LOL........that's not true. Go figure I seem to be a tad obsessed about the 'clothes are falling off and making wrinkes in wrong places' situation.
I did pick up two pairs of slacks that fit out of frustration.
(I'm down two sizes, which is probably why the darn closet FILLED with clothing isn't quite doing the trick. *sigh*)
And, because I opted to talk with himself about the 'losing weight' thing, I'm now living with Mr. Neurosis-in-action'. *bigger sigh*

Sometimes I wonder if lying isn't REALLY a better option--you don't 'worry' people and you squiggle out of being accountable. (OMG......I put that in PRINT?!)
Back to the 'we're running the joint' meeting.......
The one that I don't particularly wanna show up for?

Yeah.....well.....I don't have anything to wear. LOL

OKAY, OKAY.........so I don't 'play well with others'.
Wisepersoninmylife asked me if a 'bit' of this is about that "MY kingdom" deal that I can have going on....

MY kingdom.

My home, my sanctuary.....my little safe corner of the world.
No one comes and goes without my 'permission' (of sorts).

I like being home.
I 'do' people all the time.
Home is mine.....my place of comfort, my comfortable little place where I can just 'be'.
It's MY kingdom.
Things are as I like them.
I don't have to do a darn thing if I don't want to.
I'm going to be left alone ('cept for the ringing of the cellphone......*sigh*).
I'm going to be in my jammies as long as I want, leave things littered around as I like, and act AS child-like and pout and toss fits and chew food with my mouth opened if I WANNA!

MY kingdom.
MY rules.
MINE, MINE, MINE!!
I much preferred it being called 'my home, my safe haven'. LOL Sounds MUCH nicer, eh?

And I get to show up for this whoop-tee-do meeting nonetheless.

Ya know, the worksite is pretty much a 'MY kingdom' kinda place for me, too.
It's filled with people I get to pick....I pick the staff and the students.
It's run the way I'd run it.....cuz I run it!
It's a 'safe' place.
Granted, it's filled with people.
It's filled with people I've invited.
Yeah, yeah......I still get to find something to wear and I still get to show up for the "aren't we important cuz we get to decide" meeting. LOLOL

Oh how I NEED that attitude adjusted.

MY kingdom.
MY attitude.
MEMEMEMEME!!!

*gak!!!!!!!!*

Maybe a sixth cuppa coffee wouldn't be a bad plan!!

Thoughtfulfilled-ness

First of all--the reading fairies irritated me this morning.
NOT that I don't think there's validity to the message--I just didn't like the way they framed it.
So pfffffffft on THEM!

And it's a thoughtfilled morning.

I was 'visiting' this morning, as I do every morning.
Yep, me and my cuppa coffee, or two, or three (I think I'm on five, actually....LOL)

I've decided it's just a 'thoughtfilled' kinda morning.
And isn't it amazing that I get to peek into the lives of other people--their thoughts, feelings, perceptions, attitude and beliefs. What a priviledge to get to do that at my leisure over a cuppa coffee (or five).

Now, I know that 'worry' has little value. Anxiety solves nothing--though it identifies a whole lot. (thank you for that tidbit)
And I don't want to use the word 'worry'. Really, that's not what it is. It's 'thoughtfilled-ness' (only because the word 'thoughtFULLness' means something different and I like concocting my own vocabulary and making the Brit a bit nutzoid).

Every single place I visited left me filled with thoughts.
About the other persons, FOR the other persons.

I can never quite put my finger on what gets 'transferred' when I click that little mouse on the 'Favorites' list and hop from one place to another.

But I'm experiencing a 'thoughtfilled-ness' moment.
I wonder.
I celebrate.
I smile and laugh.
I weep.
And I shake my head in awe at the journeys.

It's a cool thing that I get to do this.
And it's not a bad thing to have my thinking on others and off of my own precious little self.
I'm thinkin' wisepersoninmylife would grumble at me how that's a VERY good thing!! LOL
Oops. LOLOL

Another TFTD

Parents can only give good advice or put them on the right paths, but the final forming of a person's character lies in their own hands.--Anne Frank

We must take responsibility for ourselves, for who we become, for how we live each day.
The temptation to blame others may be ever present.
And much of our past adds up to 'wasted days or years', perhaps, because we did blame someone else for the unhappiness in our lives.

We may have blamed our own parents for not loving us enough.
We may have labeled our husbands the villains.

Other people did affect us. That's true.
However, we chose, you and I, to let them control us, overwhelm us, shame us.

We always had other options, but we didn't choose them.

Today is a new day. Today has opened up our options.
We are learning who we are and how we want to live our lives.

How exhilarating to know that you and I can take today and put our own special flavor in it.
We can meet our personal needs. We can, with anticipation, chart our course.

The days of passivity are over, if we choose to move ahead with this day.

I will look to this day. Every day is a new beginning.

I don't WANNA get dressed.

I started the day JUST fine yesterday.
And quickly gave that up.

All it took was getting dressed....or trying to get dressed.
Have I ever mentioned that I don't like to get dressed?
Well, I don't. Not in clothes, not in pajamas--changing clothing is a hassle and a half. It's one of those decision making processes that I'd just as soon avoid. LOL

Gotta find a top that goes with a jacket/sweater that goes with the slacks/skirt that'll match whateverelse you've got to put on to make it all 'look' like it was meant to 'go' together.
HEY...I'll bet that's a part of my passion for 'oppo' socks!! You don't have to worry about getting them to 'coordinate' or 'match'. (and if you grab two different socks, you can simply don them and call 'em good to go!) (what amazing things one discovers about oneself when it's put to black and white!)

Needless to say--all was grand until it was time to get dressed for the workplace.
Longer day at the office--administrative meeting to deal with. (YIPPEE---*rolling eyes*)
It took me a good dozen attempts to get dressed.
And they weren't 'neat' attempts.

On, off, toss. On, off, toss. On, off, toss and grumble. LOL On, off, toss, grumble and shoot the Brit one of 'those' looks.
ON, off, toss into the hallway and feel 'entitled'.
On, off, toss and actually make it to the mirror in the bathroom to do the hair.
BACK to the bedroom, off, toss and try again.
You get the picture.

If I'da had the camera and the time, I'da taken a shot of the disaster area.
I'm sure a piece of me was feeling equally entitled to the moment cuz himself has slugged me (albeit, playfully) on the shoulder.

I left the house in a near huff .... the hallway, bathroom and bedroom littered with articles of clothing and 'stuff'.
(oh DARN that the Brit had the day off of work and had to 'deal' with the disaster) *snickering*

And ALL day long I dealt with people greeting me with "You look nice today!" Sheeesshhh...

I practiced saying "Thanks." as opposed to popping off with "Guess that tells me what I look like the rest of the 364 days of the year, huh..." (THAT tells ya where I was operating out of yesterday!! LOL)
I did tell the truth to the boss who greeted me with "You look nice today."

"Oh no....THIS is desperation to find something that halfway fits, that doesn't create a wrinkle down your rearend or require constant tugging to keep the crotch up to where it's suppose to be. HOW people consciously CHOOSE to 'sag' their clothing and have their crotch to their knees is beyond my comprehension. Mine's only halfway there and it's making me crazy."

And as a testimony to the unplanned 'you look nice' moment, I showed off my socks.
Yep.......blue socks with my 'settled for' grey slacks and white sweater (and appropriate scarf/accessories.....*rolling eyes*).

LOL He was ever so glad for that information, I'm certain.

And when I got home last evening--no tossed stuff in the hallway/bathroom/bedroom.
What a good little fella.

There's a problem though.
It's a brand new day and---you've guessed it--it's time to get dressed....
*evil laugh*
