Peaceful Saturday.....
As the Brit would say "Oh dear, what a shame, nevermind......" (he's not known for his compassion some days. LOL)
I've had a lovely day.
Raked leaves. Undid the raking. Raked them again. Undid the raking again. And one more time raked the leaves. It's not my fault. LOL I was bourne playful!
And I managed to mow the grass and put different lightbulbs in the ghosties so they're white instead of green and red--(though green and red woulda been a good excuse to leave 'em out for the coming up holiday, dontchathink?!)
We took a trip to a couple parks, walked in the leaves (perhaps it was himself's way of helping me avoid yet another raking? LOL) and went down a trail or two.
Fairly peace filled day. And now we're waiting for the apple crisp to cool down a bit before we indulge!
:-)
You don't get a photo of that, either. LOL
*snickering and laughing*
I'm a pain in the arse!
Oh, I know that's not news, but I always celebrate when I hear it.
It's said with suuuuuuuuuch lovvvvvvvvvvveeeeeeee. LOL
Yep. Got the cup AND the coffee this morning.
And goobers on the outside, too, dangitall....
I'm trying for goobers on the inside....and not having a lick of luck so far.
*mumbling*
Stupid whitecups........
..........okay.........but.........
We all want to be loved. It's natural, then, that we want others to accept us.
There's no harm in this unless it leads us to behave in ways that deny who we are
Do you often go along with what someone else is saying or doing without voicing your own preferences?
Do you tend to reject your own feelings and opinions about something when you find that someone else sees things differently?
Do you compromise your own desires and needs for the desires of others?
The very fact that I want approval from others means that I believe I lack approval.
And this means that I don't approve of myself.
I need to be alert for those times when I reject my own thoughts or feelings in favour of those of others.
When I become aware that I'm doing this, I can stop and give recognition to my own thoughts and feelings.
I can allow them to be there.
I can give my own view of the world the same respect I give to others.
*zipping lips*
That'll keep me from arguing with the fairy who shoved this in my direction this morning.
Maybe I'm just in the mood for arguing. LOL That wouldn't be anything new under the sun.
Speaking of sun--it's OUT. Woooohooooo!
I'll go play. That'll fix everything! :-D

*note to self*
I MIGHT be 'too old for this' STUFF.
Up at four to be on the road at six to be at a training by nine and back at home by 8:00p.m.
YEP....I'm too old for this stuff.
Or, perhaps it's simply 'understandable' to be tired after all that?
Gosh.
Maybe that's just 'human'?
AUGHH!!!
I'm not sure which would be worse. ROFL

Oooppss.....yeah, yeah......apparently I needed the reminder...

Message from an angel.....
Who was it that said that to me?!
I'm guessing an angel slipped into my path so I'd 'get' the lesson.
I wonder how many times that message got tossed in my direction before I acutally HEARD the darn thing.......
Another moment with the reading fairy
Many of us feel like we need a rulebook, a microscope, and a warranty to get through life.We feel uncertain, frightened.
We don't trust life or ourselves.
How can I trust myself?
It is understandable that we fear being crushed again, considering the way many of us were when we 'bottomed out'.
Yes, we want to avoid making the same mistakes again.
We are not the same people we were yesterday or last year.
If we made a mistake, we cannot let that stop us from living and fully experiencing today.
Do we know that we needed our life to unfold exactly as it did to find ourselves and this new way of life?
We can let go of our past and trust ourselves now.
We don't need a rulebook, a microscope, a warranty.
All we really need is a mirror.

....about that white cup.......
*hanging head*Yeah, yeah.....I'm a thief and I don't hesitate to warn people about that fact of my existence.
Liar, thief and cheat......I'm pretty dang upfront about that. (like that exonerates me! LOL)
Pens.
Ohmygosh--in the pocket, in the purse, in the hand......out I go with the pens of the world. Now, I'll admit that pen thieving isn't something I plot and plan for. It just........*snickering* happens? LOL
I've also been known to make himself turn the car around so I can return a stolen pen. This has happened on multiple occasions. He's taken to asking me "Do you have ANY stolen pens on your person?" before we leave out of town shopping excursions. *hanging head* Probably a smart move since shopping excursions happen at the town(s) 45 minutes away--'specially given the price of gasoline.....
I steal from his plate.
HEY! Things DO taste better from someone else's plate!!!
And I steal all of his 'good money'. YES, there's good money and bad money in this house. Any of those brand spankin' new shiny quarters, nickles or dollar pieces that find their way to the table/dresser.......ANY flat surface....it's MINE and it's in the 'pretties jar'..... Geeze, I'm a rotten human being, huh? LOL
And I steal his coffee.
I.............suck!
Now this one---along with the pretty GOOD moneys.......I spend some time plotting and planning on.
Yes.
I have elaborate schemes some mornings. LOL Pity the poor fella.....he's JUST not that alert in the mornings. I, on the other hand, generally have a good two pots of coffee in me when he finds daylight. And I'm USUALLY done with that second pot and can't quite work up the justification for making a third pot before I head into work.
I'm being PRACTICAL, dontchaknow!
THIS is why I'm stealing his coffee.
*nodding*
And this......is why I've taken possession of the white spidery/spidery eyeball cup.
Practicality!
I mean--the holiday season is coming and he's always looking for something to pick up for me. I'd hate for him to snag a white cup that I'd never use because I can't drink from a white cup without leaving goobers down the side of the darn cup! What a waste of money that'd be! He'd feel HORRID if he bought me something I wouldn't use--like he didn't do an adequate job of thinking through the gift. (he's neurotic---he's goofy like that.....)
SO......I'm practicing on the spidery/spidery eyeball cup.
*nodding happily*
AND......I've informed himself that I'm NOT sure that my possession of the white spidery/spidery eyeball cup can be defined as 'thieving'.
Afterall.......he knows I have it.
He even knows the sacrifice I'm making by using the cup so that he can be confident in his gift buying abilities.
*nodding smugly*
Ohhhhhhhhhhh the sacrifices I make for the neurotic Brit.
*frowning and staring at the goobered cup*
There's a secret to drinking from a whitecup.
I'VE yet to discover it....but I WILL persevere!!
(at least until Halloween...or......perhaps longer if a turkey whitecup finds its way into his possession......)
(wow......wouldn't that be a fun prezzie to give The Brit?! I could steal it and practice, practice, practice! LOLOL)
:-) It's all about MEMEME!!! hahahahahahahaha....
Yep........another TFTD
Requesting help. Admitting we are wrong.
Owning our mistake in either a big or small matter.
Asking for another chance or someone's love.
All very difficult to do, and yet necessary if we are to grow.
The difficulty is our pride, the big ego.
We think, "We need to always be right. If we're wrong, then others may think less of us, look down on us, and question our worth."
Perfectionism versus worthlessness.
If we are not perfect (and of course we never are), then we must be worthless.
In between these two points on the scale is "being human."
Our emotional growth is equal to how readily we accept our humanness, how able we are to be wrong.
With humility comes a softness that smoothes our every experience, our every relationship.
Pride makes us hard, keeps us hard, keeps others away, and sets us up for the fall.
FIRE!! (not really....LOL)
Don't feel bad.....I didn't know it either. LOL
Leastwise I didn't know it til I landed at work and I was met with invitations to go to that nifty office that they put together for me. Brilliant ME accused them of not wanting me around the children, dealing with multiple crises that were going on. And BOY were there crises that needed attended to yesterday.
Did I make it to the nifty office?
Ummmmmm.....nope. LOL
I never made it to the office until late last night.
The grown-ups got tired of trying to manipulate me to go down to the office.
And I was going warp speed with my hair on fire dealing with kiddos and an irate parent or two, a Judge who was annoyed at the irate parent and a Juvenile Court Officer who lost their cool with the Judge AND the parent.
*chuckling*
If it sounds like a three ring circus that's pretty much how it felt.
But I got PREZZIES!!! :-)
(they drug them upstairs and plopped them down in front of me, that's how BAD I am at paying attention to the adults at the worksite sometimes...LOL)
AND I got a cool card.
And a candle with a warmer thingy that illuminates the candle AND makes it melt and all smelly without some fire burning--which we're disallowed to have even though we have lots of fires we get to put out during the course of the day....or start. Sometimes I'm the fire starter, sometimes I'm a part of the fire briggade.
AND......I got a cup.
*doing happy dance*
(cuz I NEED another cup, dontchaknow........)
"Rise and Whine"
G'head.........laugh.
I'm drinking from it this morning cuz as far as I'm concerned, it's an order.
***Please note the cup is orange and not white! I hire some very smart people!

Hmmmmmmmmmm.......
One of the main reasons wealth makes people unhappy is that it gives them too much control over what they experience. They try to translate their own fantasies into reality instead of tasting what reality itself has to offer.--Philip Slater
ACK...... Fairy attack!!!
Being Honest with OurselvesOur relationship with ourselves is the most important relationship we need to maintain. The quality of that relationship will determine the quality of our other relationships.
When we can tell ourselves how we feel, and accept our feelings, we can tell others.
When we can accept what we want and need, we will be ready to have our wants and needs met.
When we can accept what we think and believe, and accept what's important to us, we can relay this to others.
When we learn to take ourselves seriously, others will too.
When we learn to chuckle at ourselves, we will be ready to laugh with others.
When we have learned to trust ourselves, we will be trustworthy and ready to trust.
When we can be grateful for who we are, we will have achieved self-love.
When we have achieved self-love and accepting our wants and needs, we will be ready to give and receive love.
When we've learned to stand on our own two feet, we're ready to stand next to someone.
Today, I will focus on having a good relationship with myself.
Excuse me while I go have some words with this morning's reading fairy.....
QOTW 10/16
*pretend there's a picture of a giant question mark along with this post.....silly blogger won't let me post one and ruined MY plans!*
And the answer to the magical question is YES!
Honestly, it'll be a bit of both. Probably more refreshed and rejuvinated than spent.
Physically, I'm looking at a 13 hour day.
OHHHHhhhhhh if I could post the entire agenda it'd make your head spin along with mine. Tuesdays and Thursdays are my favoritest days at the worksite. I get to meet with my buddy who's got a doctorate and a whole lotta letters behind his professional title--and he thinks Tuesday's are his funnest day cuz he gets harassed by me. :-) Lucky little booger. LOL
I whiz off to an administrative meeting which I absolutely.....don'tlikeverymuchatall. (I paused so I didn't say really mean things.)
I whiz back to the worksite and I get to meet with eight members of a treatment team to do a bit of 'staff development' (not sure if it's them I'm 'developing' or me, quite frankly). And then I open the calendar and go about seeing kiddos and moms and dads.....AND I get to sneak in time with a group of kiddos who are every so grateful that I'm spending time with 'em. (well, SOME of the time that's true!)
Now, that's just the light version of the day minus the crisis that get to be solved and the incidental 'stuff' that happens when you're dealing in 24 kiddos and families whose lives are ALL in crisis.
And somehow I leave, completely exhausted in body and RARIN' to go in mind and spirit.
It takes me a good three hours to 'decompress' after Tuesdays and Thursdays.
I get brain swirls goin'.
*chuckling*
Wisepersoninmylife would tell me you gotta HAVE a brain to get that swirling goin' on.
And ya'll wonder how I got this way. LOLOL

Ego or identity?
Ya know.......as much as I kvetch and poke fun of wisepersoninmylife, I know how graced I am to have him and him (cuz technically there are two of those old farts messin' about in my business, today). He knows it...........both of 'em know it cuz I've told them how much they're loved.
Don't ask......
I asked and I got an answer. Go figure....."So, g'head......what's unconditional loving about then--enlighten me, oh great wisepersoninmylife...."
Here's what I got back in return:
Simple. In the words of someone wiser than I, "it's:
- To call forth a personal sense of responsibility, and the capacity to make wise choices.
- To point out weaknesses people have, - but very caringly so that the best in the person is drawn forth in response, rather than resistance.
- To challenge and celebrate as people strive and attain, and discover their true selves..
- To help people work on their habits and weaknesses so that they become stronger.
- To show them how to use their personal power correctly.
- To help people learn to cooperate, and thus to overcome their little egos.
- To engage people in working for humanity.
- To teach people how to overcome their prejudices, resentments, separative tendencies, vanities, illusions, and other blocks to their own joy.
"Unconditional love causes you to see what has really caused a situation and to see through the outer appearances to the true needs of yourself and others, without criticism of yourself or others .
It causes you to see the basic good in yourself and others.
Unconditionally loving people see their own errors and joyfully self-correct them .
They love themselves, others and the Source of Life, and therefore the whole of life.
In particular, they are inclusive, and can maintain love and goodwill towards both the apparent "victim" and "oppressor" in a situation.
They seek to radiate their inner harmony and joy, peace and healing into any situation - without conditions or expectation of reward, and independently of the thoughts, feelings, and actions of others.
They are group conscious and do not react by immediately taking sides.
They serve the cause of peace and goodwill, and can often find ways to a fair solution of conflict that are not available to emotionally charged people."
Any more questions?
My response?
"HOLY Crap......."
LOL Ask a question from wisepersoninmylife and you get an answer.
NOT that I'm arguing the content----yet....LOL
I gotta absorb it first.
THEN I can plan my attack! ;-)
I'm gonna blame point number two.
*nodding smuggly*
If he'da just pointed it out caringly enough.........

Dear Liza's prezzie!
Oh.....about that 'Dear Liza'...... It would seem himself has earned the title (at least temporarily cuz it makes himself pull ALL kindsa faces at me....LOL) following his evening meal preparation just last night.....
I started serenading him to the tune of 'there's a hole in my bucket, dear Liza, dear Liza'. Only.....it was more like "There's a towel in your pocket, dear Liza, dear Liza......" *chuckling*
He looked so cute, puttering around in the kitchen with his widdle towel stuck in his widdle pocket.......*snickering*
I'm surrrrrrrrrrre he won't mind me sharin' that with the whole world.
k......wait......lemme ask......
*snickering some more*
k.....got the answer.....
"Of COURSE not, dear."
SEE! I have his permission! :-)
Oh yeah....
PREZZIE!!!!! Dear Liza gave me a prezzie!

Hmmmmmmm..maybe I'll steal his and practice!
Wow.
What a WONDERFUL plan!
Stealing his coffee IN Dear Liza's brand new cup!
Ohhhhhhhhhhhh.....I do so love living on that proverbial edge......LOL
