When he puts his hand on his hip and cocks his head a bit--with eyebrows raised.......I think he's challenging me. So, I defend myself/my position. That's just how I'm made!
I am not a picky eater.Really.I eat just about anything.
Right, except pork and shellfish and flatfish. And let's not forget 'no wheat, rye, barley or malt products'.
Some of that's dietary stuff that's observed, by choice, out of respect. And I'm just a victim of the 'no wheat, rye, barley or malt' deal. ....Really. I'm not a picky eater. Zap a cauliflower--I'm good with that for my meal!
I'll give you the wheat one. What about 'as long as it doesn't touch.....'
Well, if zapped cauliflower is what I'm having for dinner then it ain't touchin' nothing else but the plate--...duh.
Right--'can't touch'...'and can we use the divided plate'--that's not picky.
Nah. That's just about stuff that goes together and stuff that doesn't go together. I'm NOT a picky eater. I just don't like stuff gettin' soggy that's not suppose to BE soggy.
(I got the raised eyebrows and a chuckle with that one.....rawwwwwrrrrr)
Right-no pork, shellfish or flatfish...no wheat, rye, barley or malt...it can't touch, it has to go together according to Mel's rules of what CAN go together and it can't be soggy unless it's suppose to be soggy. Oh, let's not forget texture.....and how it looks....
Well if it looks like baby pooh would YOU wanna put it in your mouth? I mean, think about that--what part of having something the texture of baby pooh in your mouth is appealing?!
(UH oh.....more raised eyebrows means I scramble a bit.....)
You're talkin' about those Indian smooshed up chickpea and potato thingies--I mean, if you like it, g'head. Ummmm...We agreed longgggggggggg ago, if I don't like it, I don't gotta eat it.
(Yup.....scrambling!!!!)
Well, I might have liked it had the baby pooh remark not been made.
SEE! It matters to you how it looks, too! HA!!
AS I'm about to eat it is not the time to give me your impressions.
Ohhhhh.....You'd want me to tell you this after you put the stuff that looked like baby pooh in your mouth....k.....I can do that.
Ohhhh noooooooo. You're not a picky eater. Not at all.....
(this said as balls up the kitchen towel, tosses it at me, shakes his head and exits the kitchen)
I'm........discriminating. I'm NOT PICKY.
(this said as I followed him with the magnetic 'dress the moose' toy I was playing with)
You're just jealous of Mr. Moose's happy mittens!!
(k....really....I am NOT a picky eater.)

I so understand certain parts of this dilemma

(oh yes, I do understand!)
I'd just call it discerning and then set the moose loose on him!

Discriminating it is. Picky? what's that mean?
*grin* We'd get along great!
I'm eating chicken curry as I read this...dang why the baby pooh remark.
Oh Mel, this was flawless...
.."I'm........discriminating. I'm NOT PICKY."...
Hahahahahahahahahaha!
You crack me up, dear lady!
I'm the same way about food. And definitely the same when it comes to fish and pork.
I wonder if we're related?
Libra's perhaps?
Tee, hee!

Sounds like your body is telling you what you can and can't eat and how you need to be eating it, our bodies are good like that.
How did you get on with the parasite thingie? They have to be tested for in a very particular way and to complicate things, most doctors don't believe they affect people. I've updated about my most recent situation but it seems a darn parasite has been the cause of almost all my health issues - that includes gluten intolerance and asthma - so not to be taken lightly (the little bastard!!!).
Hope your belly's being kind to you today :)
