No one is going to dump the goodness and the treasures of life in your lap. Yet when you take the trouble to look for the truly valuable things in life, you'll find them in abundance.
This day, this moment, this life is exactly what you decide to make of it. It can be dreary and depressing, or it can be bright and magnificent.
That depends not on how this day comes to you, but on what you do with it.
