It's now Wednesday evening and there's a puddle forming under the water heater. Right then....problem, solution! I've decided to 'catch' the drip with a tin tray--at least for now...until I can get hold of the swearing plumbers and have them come visit me AGAIN. Which won't be tomorrow by the way-- because it's a HOLIDAY.
THERE'S a surprise!
k.....
I'm NOT liking water very much at this moment in time.
And I'm NOT sure how I feel about plumbers, though I'm thinkin' I could outswear 'em at this point....
NOR am I liking the terms "great--we're screwed really".
If I hear those words one more time I'm gonna resort to violent behaviors WITH the turkey emu that's defrosting in the fridge because "that's how it's suppose to be done so you don't get food poisoning".
k.........that's how it's suppose to be done days earlier which is when the 22 pound turkey emu ought to have been purchased.
And the reason it wasn't? Because "it's large and wouldn't fit in the freezer".
k......
We live in the United States of America where freezer units are the size of the flipping teensy thing himself called a refrigerator in the United Kingdom. Three emus would fit in that freezer---AND they could be happily and comfortably playing bridge at a card table in there......THAT'S how much room there is in the flipping freezer.
And besides..... HAD the turkey been bought at an earlier time it woulda been a 10-12 pound turkey and not a flipping 22 pound turkey emu AND it could have comfortably been defrosting IN THE REFRIGERATOR section of that unit WHILE I was sucking up water from the carpet IN the one room there was water IN.
Love and tolerance of others is our code.
Love and tolerance of others is our code.
Love and tolerance of others is our code.
Seriously.
I'm going to hurt the freaking turkey emu in the fridge..........
That seems the safest route to go.

Sorry too many typos in my first message.
Oh dear Mel, this is not good. I don't like water outside of glasses, bottles, pools, ponds, rivers, lakes, seas, oceans ...you get the idea. I do not like water in rooms in the house.
Hoping that all your problems will be fixed in time for you to be able to fully thaw, cook and eat the turkey.
That is one seriously big turkey by the way, hope you have some guests to share it with.
Take care, and I hope you get to enjoy Thanksgiving.
Ha ha :D -> "I'm thinkin' I could outswear 'em at this point"
Good luck, Mel!
If I hadn't recently had to cope with flooding water and plumbers I would say your post was hilarious.... instead I commiserate. Happy Thanksgiving.
Ooops not a good day, hope today is better and that you are having a happy thanksgiving as planned. Diane
What time you servin' the emu? Ever think of turning the water off so it stops dripping all over the floor? Just askin'.
If I was your neighbor, I'd come over and fix everything. I used to be a freakin' plumber. By the way, would love to hear you swear.
Of course, in my condition, I'd just stand there and tell you what to do. I wouldn't be weilding any wrenches or anything since I'm still treating myself as if I'm fragile.
Sorry you're having some problems with it all Mel. Have a wonderful day anyway.
Peace
HAHAHAHAHAAAAAA!!!!! ahhh thanks for the giggles, I needed them as I lay in bed unwilling to tackle the dishes in the sink so I can make more to wash...........sigh.....

A mess of HOT rusty water running down the walls of MY apartment.

Yup...that's exactly how I felt too, Mel!
Sure hope it got fixed by now and that you enjoyed your Thanksgiving Day.
