We don't always have to be strong. Sometimes, our strength is expressed in being vulnerable. Sometimes, we need to fall apart to regroup and stay on track.
We all have days when we cannot push any harder, cannot hold back self-doubt, cannot stop focusing on fear, cannot be strong.
There are days when we cannot focus on being responsible. Occasionally we don't want to get out of our pajamas. Sometimes, we cry in front of people. We expose our tiredness, irritability, or anger.
Those days are okay. They are just okay.
Part of taking care of ourselves means we give ourselves permission to "fall apart" when we need to. We do not have to be perpetual towers of strength. We are strong. We have proven that. Our strength will continue if we allow ourselves the courage to feel scared, weak, and vulnerable when we need to experience those feelings.

Hi Mel,
Amen.
I say that I have lived this one. It is impossible not to make those walls crumble at times, as we cannot take on all the weight at once...
I've been there this winter and all said, I broke down to build up stronger.
Mel, I always have seen that my vulnerability balancing my strength. Hiding days are not just ok for me, but a tool to relax, recuperate and regroup myself.
Mel, my recovery blog is set on private as my situation here in the USA becomes difficult, yet my general blog is open and here I am visiting again. You were not forgotten.
Not sure what happened that you are in California, but I will re-trace your posts to figure.
My thoughts are with you and yours. Paula
Trying to be too stong for too long doesn't do anyone any good. You have to let it out sometimes and there is a strength in knowing when you have reached that point and in letting go.
Love and hugs to you and yours

Life can be difficult - it would be unrealistic to expect to feel good all the time. If we felt strong all the time there would be something wrong with us!
Hope things are still going well.

I suspect you must be very weary. I offer my prayers for peace and clarity. Thinking of you.
