Do you ever run away from home?
Yup-- I'm assuming everyone does. I run away on a regular basis.
Sometimes it's with himself, sometimes it's not.
I like adventures.
And I cherish my 'alone time'.
Maybe sometimes more than I oughta, but there ya have it.
Most times himself knows when I'm running away.
Sometimes......notsomuch....
Fact is, I'll probably run away this morning--before I head into the worksite.
Might even take the camera as an alibi.....

You got me. But when I run, I really run. I'm gone for weeks. Sure, I call home and tell everyone I love them and all, but I stay away, and my phone never rings. My therapy and meditation is watching the world through a windshield. The nights are horrible and I don't do well with them. I run, and I'll run until I die. I don't think I want to stop running. It seems to be all I have left. I don't drink or do drugs or gamble. There are many things I can't do anymore. I can't even raise my arms up over my shoulders to hammer a nail. So I can still run, and run I will. It's just a matter of time.
Oh, and those little jaunts, the ones "for the day" or "for a while", I do those too. I want to run today, right now, so bad. I'll try to hang around until some time later in January. That's how bad I have the wanderlust. And I like it.
Peace.
I'm very suspicious of people who don't like their alone time. :)
Elizabeth Berg wrote a book about a woman who ran away from home and then sent letters to her husband. I loved it. It's called "The Pull of the Moon"

Even in her 80s, my mother would call a cab and go and live in a hotel for a weekend - just for true alone time away from Dad. Then, she'd come home refreshed.

Yup...another Libra trait.
We cherish our alone time, BIG time!
We can be very social people, but we need that running away time to recharge, renew, and just be.

I did when I was about 13. . .
. . .but I don't think that's the kind of running away you're referring to. . .
Call it running away, call it 'me' time, call it time alone ...it's real important.
Aha! when Youngest was about six - but that was different too : )
When I'm coming home from the East, we come to a sign that says "Wales, The West, Bristol" and I want to get on that road and just go. Unfortunately, I have to turn off at the next junction - about 100 miles before "Wales and The West".
Mrs Middle feels the same as me.
