Lost your car lately?
*hanging head* Yes....
But not like I lost it at the 2000 convention in Minneapolis. OMG
In heels, wandering through the parking -- from top to bottom for better than an hour. Up down, up, down.....I figured out who I needed to call as I headed back to the convention, figured I'd just go enjoy the rest of the afternoon, given I wasn't going anywhere. I mean, you can't rightly go anywhere without your car -- it was just a matter of telling the friend I'd met up with at the convention that my car no longer was 'resting' in the multi story car park.
Uh huh.
There were two carparks and I'd spent an hour searching the wrong one.
And Saturday--when I zipped into Menards to pick up something....coulda swore I parked by the exit doors.......
*sigh*
Nothing like a good stroll through Menard's parking lot on a Saturday afternoon, right?!

ah! see, I don't have this problem, cos I don't have a car. . .
(but years ago X and I forgot which airport car park we'd left the car in, when we returned back from a holiday late at night with two exhausted toddlers and a baby)(he walked around for about an hour clicking the remote key thing to try and get a car somehwere amongst all the thousands to go "beep"!!)
I used to do that a lot.
Now I write down the parking bay in my notepad before abandoning the car only I never thought to write down the car park as well.
This is a bit worrying. I think I'll do that too, next time.
it's as good a way as any other to get your exercise!
xx
If you have a remote opener you can just go around clicking that over and over until the lights click. I did that at the airport once. Of course it was at night so that helped.
OMG, this was so funny, Mel because you brought back a flood of memories for me when I quite often did the same thing when I had a car!
There was a time when I actually thought someone had stolen my car because I swore I had parked it in a particualar spot, ONLY to find it on the opposite side of the mall - HA!

what's worse is hopping in a car that you THINK is yours, and it isn't! People with the same car as yours should really lock them and not park next door to an identical car!
Was it the Jeep? Hope I find it!
My Mom did this the last year she was allowed to drive. She drove to the grocery and left the car in the lot and walked home, (home was literally 200 yards away from the grocery).
I have lost my car in the Sprawl of America parking lot, but only because I didn't remember what lot I parked in.
It can happen to anyone.
Peace.
OMG, we lost our car at an Eagles vs. Dallas game in Irving, TX. We did not look to see where we parked before we went into the stadium. Our Eagles won the game and then we started to leave the stadium. I really really needed to use the bathroom, but the line was so long I said don't worry...we only live 15 minutes from the stadium I'll just go at home. Well, since we could not find the truck it ended up taking about 45 minutes until we got home. Ridiculous!! I was busting when I got home.
Oh Mel, I can't tell you how much I love you about now.
You see I honestly thought I was the only person to do this.
I am so bad at losing the car in a car park.
I just sort of absent-mindlessly park it, lock it and wander off.
To the extent that I have had to wait 6 hours for a shopping mall car parks to empty in order for the security to drive me round till we found it.
The kids are so use to me doing this that they have known from an early age to check where their dumb mother has parked.
I love you for being like me on this one and for being brave enough to admit it.
much love
Lia
