I know a very large part of the reason I got 'placed' into the administrative team is because I'll always advocate for the kiddos and I'll always advocate for the staff who work directly with them....and I can do that well. I'll chase what's 'right' with a passion.
Sometimes I do that with dignity and grace..........sometimes (yes, I know the difference between assertive and aggressive) I'll come across the tables in order to be heard. I don't like not being heard.....
One of these days I'm gonna become one of those "when ____ talks, everybody listens" kinda people in the administrative team.
Oddly enough, I'm able to be that in a few places already. That's a privilege and a responsibility in the same breath and I know it.
However, I haven't quite made it to that 'space' with the administrative team....yet.
I know the boss has me right where I am BECAUSE of this piece of me.
But geeze......I don't like coming across tables. (okay, it's mostly 'leaning')
And I don't like that he gets that little smirk going when I do.

Yep.... we all have a role to play. C:)
I don't like not being heard either.(laughing)
my mantra at work use to be: "respond....don't react"
sometimes I remembered it.
kick a** when you gotta kick a**. if they aren't going to listen, you are in your right to be heard. :)
happy friday and have a great weekend!

I'm the sort who would rather be a listener and I think I always have been. I spoze I'd be a lousy administrator - although I was sort of in that position with an online group at one time and often it felt like only a few were doing the actual work - that's why I'm not doing it anymore. :)
Working in an all male environment, I am quite often standing on the table shouting at the top of my voice, and these days I am starting to do it even when I dont need to anymore :-)
Chin up lady. x
