Warm Weather

We actually had the first warm day since I returned from the sisters.
There was time on the patio--a short bit cuz I worked late, but time nonetheless.
And then I considered sunset and couldn't muster up the gumption.
So I snuck out on the front porch....and heard thunder.
Of COURSE the first warm day means storms.
And of COURSE that means the handy dandy alert thingy comes to life.

ARE we having severe weather?  Nah.....it's flattening out and we'll probably get rain.
But three counties BELOW us is getting a storm--cuz my handy dandy alert radio just did the screaming deal to get my attention.  And he-who-must-stay-advised has paced in and out of the house multiple times.  (geeze...he's lived here for a few YEARS now--this is JUST how it goes and pacing changes zilch........settle in, relax......watch lightening, I say.....)

No sunset watching.
No sunset photos......
No piece of peace on a dirt road.
"Potential for high winds and hail" dontchaknow.

Ummmmm....three counties UNDER us--but there ya have it!

That's okay--cuz warm weather doesn't just mean storms three counties below us--it means JUNE BUGS IN THE FREAKING BACK YARD.

Shouldn't the handy dandy alert thingy scream to tell me important stuff like THAT?!

JUST sayin'..........

Hi Mel,
Here comes the storm season.
You talk with the reassurance of someone who has seen many a storm come and go.
I don't get those here. Just regular rain or thunderstorms...

He-who-must-be-advised (loved that) wouldn't like it here either... rain, rain go away. I don't mind a storm but continuous rain is soooo wearing.

Same here, Mel, we're also getting warmer days and a lot of rain here on the east coast. But that tends to be the way in May, even though they say "April showers bring May flowers", we seem to get more rain in May than April.

Talked to my mother and brother last night, and they're having a lot rain too, but unusually cooler temps for this time of the year in Florida.

Figures...I move from Florida because of the heat, and then it gets cooler there and HOTTER here - HA!

Oh dear. I suppose we'll get them as soon as the weather warms up. Meanwhile, there's a lot of wind but nothing to get excited about. Nothing as exciting as junebugs anyway.
