Yup.....bad plan........

Bad plan.

BAD PLAN.

BAD PLAN!!

*sigh*
So I had a meeting rescheduled for 8a.m. Thursday morning.
Did I think about it--nah.....I wrote in on my appointment book and moaned about back to back meetings starting at 9a.m. and ending some time around 3p.m. I'm not particularly thrilled about meetings anyway...but it's part of the deal and I'm required to show up and be a part of them.

Fine.

It dawned on me last evening--Fuzzy Thursday was gonna happen.....greattttttttttt.

Yup....and I was expected to be at a 9a.m. meeting (which meant I'd get to leave home at 8a.m. for the hour drive).

Did it cross my mind to call the boss and tell him that was a bad plan for me?

NOPE.

Did I take my required handfull earlier Wednesday evening? Yup.
And did I get myself up earlier in order to load myself up with coffee so I could hit the road by 8a.m.? Yup.

BAD PLAN!!!!!!!!

Oh, I got to the meeting place by 9a.m. safe and sound.

It was just the place that the 12:30p.m. meeting was going to happen in......not the 8a.m. meeting place, of course......

So I did manage to make the 9a.m. meeting by 9:20a.m.
And did I contribute worth a darn......nope.

The boss asked me, part way through the meeting, if everything was okay.

"Yup....everything's just grand, thanks!"

BAD PLAN!!!!!

And did I make the 12:30p.m. meeting on time?

NOPE!

I decided I oughta grab something to eat in hopes that'd piece the rest of the day together for me--obviously I needed to do something to improve that participation.
And since I can't eat just 'anything' right now....I decided where I needed to go to get something decent in me and grabbed it 'to go'.

So, back on the road....and yep, darned if I didn't miss that exit that woulda took me to the building that I'd been to at 9a.m.!

And because I'm an anal retentive person about time and I make it practice NEVER to be late to stuff cuz it makes me crazy TO be late--which, of course my boss knows--he again looked at me and asked if everything was okay.

"Yup....everything's just grand, thanks!"

And did I arrive safely at home following the meeting?
NOPE.

But I got a good start on it--before I remembered that I had a physician's appointment and turned the car around.

Can I just mention how pride and ego created the whole freaking screwed up day?
Nah.

.....not thinkin' there's a need to......

Sounds like there ought to be a Faire that says something like Remember that being human means you aren't a machine, and that you occassionally make mistakes, even if you're Mel. Get hugs from your friends, admit that you make a mistake, and move on.

{{{{{{{Mel}}}}}}

Let's go. And about the unnecessary word verification...

Mel, honey, you work too hard and try so hard.

Even on a fuzzy Thursday, you carry on.

hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

let's start with a big hug

((((((((((((mel)))))))))))

'kay - so I'm hopin' that the yummy potatoe pie at the end of the day made things a little better? lump in the tum or not. . . despite The Brit getting his potato worries about lumpiness all mixed up. . .

now, let's put the potato pie aside for a mo (tricky, cos it's so yummy I think I want some more)

when I used to work, I always tried hard not to schedule more than two meetings back-to-back without a proper break

(whether for myself or a boss)

do you know why? cos most people who do back-to-back meetings just do not perform at their optimum, or make their best contribution, after the second meeting

'tis true!

the human brain doesn't work like that!

it doesn't!

and if you train your brain to work like that (and I know plenty of people who do) something else down the line suffers. . .

:-(

that's all I'm sayin' - probably said to much (and I had my mouth full of that yummy pie)(oh, and some toasty marshmallows and graham crackers too), don't wanna interfere, probably don't know what I'm talking about since it's so long since I worked (like, last century). . .

I'll shut up and go sit in the corner - The Clueless Corner no less!!

(you know I care - right - I just don't knowhow to say the right thing sometimes. . .)(and I know you know this anyway, and just wrote it up to get it off your chest, right)

can we have another hug?

tell you what, just blow bubbles and shoot the water pistol at me, why don't ya - that'll teach me, huh

and on a fuzzy Thursday, tch tch. . .

YIKES!!!

I'll go hide now, I can see you're reloading

LOL

<--armed and dangerous!

(k....not really......)

Now, let's keep in mind we're talking MEL....yaknow, the gal who can't sit still for a 90 minute movie that she desperately WANTS to sit still for...
Was I a terror in the meeting(s)--probably more so the second than the first--Thinkin' I was too fuzzy that first meeting TO bounce off the walls. LOL

It's not the norm...and it was just plain....well...silly--if not poor planning!
Not my planning, of course..LOL But silly and poor planning on my part.
A simple phone call to say "No can do!" woulda been the better part of wisdom.

But could I make myself make that call.....nooooooooooooooooo....
*rolling eyes*
Oy...talk about silliness......

<--SILLINESS!!!!
