It never fails.I feel bad for the turkey.
Now, not that it doesn't stop me from enjoying a turkey dinner--however, the turkey we end up eating is bred for the sole purpose of providing us our Thanksgiving meal.
(HOW that rationalized out as 'better/good', I have no clue. LOL)
I just know what we're dining on is NOT from the turkey family that lives up the road.
The Brit tells me he'll be getting a turkey for Thanksgiving. Apparently it's a 'gift' from his employer.
Uh huh........
I'm counting the turkeys that live up the road from us.
If one of 'em's missing---BIG trouble!!
From left to right...Thelma, Teresa, Tilly, Thomas, Teddy, Tracy, Tabitha, Tammy, Terrell and Ralph Turkey.
If you name 'em, you gotta keep 'em dontchaknow! :-)

Yes! You are right! If you name them, you cannot eat them! A guy friend of mine grew up in the country with his grand-pa & his grand-pa gave him a pig. Poor thing, he thought it was a pet. Nope & it just about traumatized my friend...let's just say, he is not a hunter.
if you don't have Thelma for Thanksgiving, can I have her for Xmas?
;-)
nice turkey family you got in your neighborhood. i don't have to worry about eatin turkeys i'm aquainted with on thanksgiving, i usally have a tofurkey.
Perhaps you haven't seen the evil Gordon Ramsey on telly...he kept turkeys, named them after his colleagues (all TV chefs) and killed and cooked them in his restaurant!
I don't think he actually killed them in the restaurant...he did that at home first. Kept them in his garden he did!
hahahahaaaa! Honestly, a few yrs back I had 7 acres of land! We had Turkeys galore! I would spend Months FATTENIG them up; wouldn't you know, a week before Thanksgiving--THEY ALL DISAPPEARED! Not a stupid animal!
hahaha!
: )
starbender~ LOL, Are you sure they 'disapeared' or was Thanksgiving in town on you that year?
