Thought from the reading fairy

The pain of change is a reality.
But so is the pain of no change - when change is called for.
In spite of our desires, changing others will never be an option, whereas changing ourselves takes only a decision and is a choice always available.

I always carry change. I even use those little circular coin slots on the console in my car for parking meter change. The small Wisconsin town where I live still has penny, nickel and dime parking meters. Two hours for a dime. twelve minutes for a penny.

Not the kind of change you write about? Ooops, sorry.

Pardon my introduction, when I read that second sentence, the pain of no change when change is needed, I thought of the parking meters in St. Paul, MN. They only take quarters and dollar coins. No one I know carries around dollar coins. Our small town has these little coin meters.

As for the actual message of the script, well, that's right on for sure.

We are never in control of anything, least of all, changing people or things to our liking. We must change ourselves to survive. At least I try to. Change from worrying about something I know I can't change to NOT worrying about it and going about living peacefully.

Very true, Mel, but also very difficult when we tend to become a part of each other in our relationships. C:)

Oh!!

How silly of me.....

The pleasure is all mine, Mr. Spadoman. I enjoyed hearing from you (and I'm so glad I'm not the only one who went from the reading to coins and wee slots in the car's console)

I've not yet had the pleasure of meeting Spadoman, but I totally agree with every word of his last paragraph in his comment.

My feelings EXACTLY!

Thank you Spadoman!

And thank YOU Mel!
